The Romanian Government has passed an emergency ordinance that allows the Prosecutor’s Office alone to conduct phone tapping during prosecutions. The law had been approved by the country’s Supreme Defense Council that was convened for an extraordinary meeting by President Klaus Iohannis. The ordinance was drafted after, on February 16, the Constitutional Court decided that the Romanian Intelligence Service- SRI was no longer allowed to conduct phone tapping as part of criminal cases. The Court transferred this duty to the prosecutor’s offices allowing the Romanian Intelligence Service to make phone tapping only in cases related to national security and terrorism. Prosecutor’s offices will be able to use the tapping equipment of the SRI but not the service’s staff for interceptions in criminal cases.
The Romanian minister delegate for the relation with the Diaspora, Dan Stoenescu has met in Kuala Lumpur with the Malaysian foreign minister and justice minister. Dan Stonescu went to Malaysia in his capacity of special envoy of President Klaus Iohannis and of the PM Dacian Cioloş. According to Romania TV station, he conveyed to the Malaysian authorities the official letters of the two Romanian dignitaries, in which they ask them for clemency in the case of a Romanian citizen, Ionut Gologan, now in prison, who has been sentenced to death for drug trafficking. Another 3 Romanian citizens are imprisoned in Malaysia. Efforts are being made at diplomatic level by the Romanian authorities to bring them back to Romania.
The speaker of the Romanian Chamber of Deputies, Valeriu Zgonea, is participating on Sunday in Berlin in an international parliamentary conference on fighting anti-Semitism. He will preside over the plenary session entitled “Official and governmental answers to anti-Semitism.” The meeting will be attended by the first vice-president of the European Commission, Frans Timmermans, the German chancellor, Angela Merkel, the president of the Bundestag, Norbert Lammert and the UNESCO director general, Irina Bokova. High on the agenda of the conference are the anti-Semitic discourse promoted by means of the Internet and examples and practices in fighting anti-Semitism in the Muslim communities.
The Romanian PM Dacian Ciolos has conveyed condolences to all those who have loved and admired the Romanian athlete, Iolanda Balas, who died on Friday at the age of 79. A legend of Romanians sports, Iolanda Balas set 14 world records and won 105 consecutive competitions, which is a unique performance in the world. Between 1988 — 2005 Iolanda Balas led the Romanian Athletics Federation.
North Korea has issued another threat of war over military exercises being conducted by the United States and South Korea. According to the BBC, the North Korean army announced it was ready to launch a preemptive strike in response to any sign of invasion. The North Korean authorities say this will lead to what they refer to as “the liberation of South Korea and to national reunification”.
The Romanian tennis players Simona Halep and Monica Niculescu have qualified for the 3rd round of the WTA Premier tournament in Indian Wells, California, which has prizes up for grabs worth 6.1 million dollars. Simona Halep, ranked 5th in the WTA classification, 5th seed and winner of the trophy defeated the American Vania King (ranked 202nd in the WTA classification) 6-1, 6-1. Monica Niculescu, 32nd seeded at the Californian tournament, defeated the British Heather Watson in three sets, 6-4, 2-6, 6-2. In the next leg, Halep will play against the Russian Ekaterina Makarova (32 WTA) while Niculescu will be pitted against, the Polish Agnieszka Radwanska (3rd ranked in the WTA classification) and seed no.3.
Primaverii Palace (The Spring Palace) — the former residence of the Communist dictator Nicolae Ceausescu will be open to the public as of today. A permanent exhibition will be opened in the palace of the former dictator who was executed in December 1989. Primaverii Palace was built between 1964-1965, it has more than 80 rooms, a cinema hall and a swimming pool. The furniture, chandeliers, Murano mirrors and the luxury furnishings were the personal choice of the Ceausescus. The re-opening of the palace is part of the campaign “Your right to know” coordinated by the deputy prime minister Vasile Dincu with the support of the Government’s General Secretariat and the State Protocol Authority.
The Association of European Journalists is following with concern the actions that might put in danger the future of the public radio and television stations in Romania. According to them, the Romanian public television- TVR has accumulated huge debts and has not managed to balance its financial situation for a long period of time. The Association writes in a communiqué that it is important that any changes that may occur in the law on the functioning of the two public stations should not affect the public radio station. The Association also criticizes the lack of open, large-scale public debates ahead of trying to amend the law in an election year. It recalled that the public radio and television broadcasters had the responsibility to provide the population with correct and balanced news and information during the elections period and in moments of political uncertainty. «Cest un volume qui a de la force, qui est bien construit, probablement le meilleur que Ruxandra Cesereanu ait écrit jusquici. Initialement son titre était « Hôtel Californie sur les quais du Somes ». Mais lauteure a renoncé au mot « hôtel » juste avant la publication, décidant quil était « limitatif » pour un livre dans lequel elle voulait parler de lenfance, de ladolescence, de la jeunesse et de la maturité, de la foi dans la poésie et de la lutte pour la poésie. Ruxandra Cesereanu : « Je navais pas fixé de projet au moment où jai commencé, cette démarche qui sest concrétisée à mesure quelle sest développée. Au début, je croyais que jallais écrire un poème de 5 pages. Javais déjà pensé à 3 niveaux: un niveau visuel réaliste, à savoir les rives de la rivière Somes, un niveau de la foi en poésie et en la méta-poésie et un 3e niveau consacré aux souvenirs. Mais je ne savais pas quil allait se développer tant, je croyais que ce serait un poème plus concentré. Ensuite, à partir dun moment, jai constaté que ces niveaux étaient en fait beaucoup plus amples. Au début javais donc pensé au titre « Hôtel Californie sur les quais du Somes », inspiré de la célèbre chanson Hotel California du groupe Eagles. Cela aurait suffi pour un poème de 5 pages. Mais au moment où le poème initial sest transformé en plusieurs poèmes, en une sorte de fleuve comportant plusieurs niveaux et se développant dans différentes directions, je me suis rendu compte que le terme dhôtel désignait un espace trop limité pour contenir tout ce flux didées ». En 2013, Ruxandra Cesereanu a acheté un vélo et a commencé à faire des randonnées sur les rives du Somes. Elle raconte: « Je rentrais chez moi après avoir fait plusieurs tours à vélo le long de la rivière, lorsque jai entendu le son dune guitare et des voix: des garçons et de filles jouaient la chanson « Hotel California » du groupe Eagles. Ces notes improvisées, ces voix tantôt aiguës, tantôt rauques mont transportée dans le temps, à lépoque où jétais moi-même adolescente et je chantais avec frénésie aux côtés de mes copines de lycée (et plus tard de faculté) le même morceau soit sur les bords du Somes, soit à différentes fêtes de lycéens ou détudiants qui se croyaient le centre de lunivers. Ce voyage dans le temps a fait naître un poème ou plutôt un livre composé dun seul poème sur trois niveaux ».
Ruxandra Cesereanu. «Il marrive quelque chose de bizarre, mais cest aussi quelque chose de bénéfique, qui me remplit dénergie et de vie, d«ultravie», comme je lappelle. Parce quil est évident que, pour moi, ce livre est déjà une forme de vie. Je suis sûre et certaine quil va se développer. Je crois que les niveaux ajoutés donneront naissance à dautres, surtout pendant les vacances dété, parce que cest à ce moment – là que se déclenchent mon proustianisme, mes souvenirs. Ce livre va donc évoluer dans le temps, mais il restera uniquement sous forme de manuscrit ; je ne vais plus en publier la suite. Jai déjà publié une édition avec 17 fragments ajoutés. Dorénavant, peu importe combien je vais écrire, il ny aura quun manuscrit électronique, qui nappartiendra quà moi et qui aura pour moi une fonction vitale».
Sur le volume « Californie sur les quai du Somes », on a dit que cest un livre sur la poésie comme vocation à perpétuité et sur la confiance existentielle que lon fait à la poésie. Le poème comporte aussi des références livresques essentielles pour lart poétique de Ruxandra Cesereanu : « Personnellement, je me suis formée dans un climat dominé par la poésie. Dans mon adolescence, mon père avait pris lhabitude de me lire des poésies. Javais 17 ou 18 ans quand il ma fait découvrir les poètes de la génération dite “des années 80” et cest avec lui que jai commencé à commenter ce genre de poésie et par la suite, toute la grande poésie universelle. Jai donc grandi avec cette idée dans la tête que la poésie, cest ce quil y a de plus beau. Mais à lépoque, jignorais complètement que la poésie deviendrait si importante pour moi. Il est pourtant vrai quà force de vivre au sein dune société dévêtue de tout mystère et post post moderniste qui tourne le dos aux archétypes, on essaie de se mettre à labri des paroles pathétiques. Mais moi, tout en madaptant aux exigences de la société actuelle, je reste fidèle à mes repères de jadis. Du coup, pour moi, la poésie représente une sorte de rédemption vitale. Je fais confiance à la poésie et je me débats pour elle car cest la forme suprême de lart, le seul genre littéraire que lon pourrait comparer à la musique symphonique. Et quand je parle de la poésie je ne me réfère pas seulement aux techniques de la poétique, mais à la haute qualité esthétique des vers. Cest pour cela que je lutte. Je suis certaine quau sein dun monde désenchanté, il nous reste encore des solutions pour rallumer le mystère par de belles histoires. Car cest par des histoires et de la poésie que lon peut toujours sauver notre monde. Je doute quune poésie du dérisoire ou du sentimentalisme soit capable de résister. Par contre, je parie sur une poésie mélangée à la méta-poésie qui fait de la croyance dans la littérature une véritable forme de vie ».

Cunoscuta poetă, prozatoare şi eseistă clujeană Ruxandra
Cesereanu a publicat recent un nou volum de poezie: California (pe
Someş), Editura Charmides, 2014. California (pe Someş) este un volum
puternic şi bine construit, probabil cel mai bun de pînă acum al Ruxandrei
Cesereanu. Pe lîngă senzorialitatea şi senzualitatea imaginilor poetice, cu
care ne-a obişnuit deja, noi sînt aici experienţa iniţiatică, extatică a stării
de poezie/ poeziei, ca şi intenţia programatică de a afirma încrederea în
poezie scrie criticul Adina Diniţoiu în Observator Cultural. Făcând
referire la titlu, autoarea spune că a renunţat pe ultima sută de metri la cuvântul Hotel din titlu, fiindcă respectivul cuvânt era
limitativ pentru ceea ce a dorit să facă în cartea asta despre copilărie,
adolescenţă, tinereţe şi maturitate; în cartea asta despre credinţa în poezie
şi despre bătălia pentru poezie.
Ruxandra
Cesereanu: N-a fost un proiect fixat dinainte, ci a
fost un demers, un proiect aluvionar la început şi care s-a fixat pe măsură ce
creştea. La început am crezut că voi scrie un poem de vreo cinci pagini. El era
deja gândit pe trei straturi, un strat al vizualului realist, pe malul
Someşului, un alt strat al credinţei în poezie şi al metapoeziei, şi un strat
al amintirilor. Dar nu mi-am dat seama că se va dezvolta atât de ramificat,
credeam că poemul va fi unul foarte concentrat. Apoi, de la un punct, mi-am dat
seama că aceste straturi sunt nu doar foarte ample, ci că am creat un fel de
declic, un fel de explozie şi implozie în acelaşi timp, care o vor lua la vale.
Se vor rostogoli şi de mine va depinde când va avea loc oprirea respectivă. Aşa
că, iniţial, mă gândisem chiar la titlul Hotel California pe Someş strict legat
de celebra melodie a formaţiei Eagles, pentru că, pentru un poem de cinci
pagini, un Hotel California pe Someş era de ajuns. Dar după ce poemul s-a
transformat în mai multe poeme, a devenit un fel de fluviu la rândul lui, cu
tot felul de straturi, de nişe, de adâncituri şi direcţii, mi-am dat seama că
un hotel spaţializat, fie doar şi poetic, alegoric, e prea strâmt pentru a
cuprinde tot fluxul acesta care s-a născut în mine.
În
2013, Ruxandra Cesereanu şi-a cumpărat bicicletă şi a început să se plimbe pe
malul Someşului. Mă întorceam spre casă, după ce rulasem câteva ture în sus
şi-n jos pe malul râului, când am auzit un zvon de chitară şi nişte glasuri
răzleţe: erau nişte băieţi şi fete, care zdrăngăneau melodia Hotel California,
cu specificul ei dominant de chitară în stilul trupei Eagles. Zvonul chitării
aceleia malformate (căci adolescenţii auziţi de mine improvizau cu sfială) şi
glasurile acelea, ba subţiri, ba răguşite, m-au făcut să mă întorc în timp, pe
vremea când eu însămi eram adolescentă şi cântam de zor, cu prietenele mele de
liceu (şi mai apoi cu acelea din facultate) aceeaşi melodie auzită acum,
improvizată odinioară cu frenezie, fie pe malul Someşului, pe insula zisă a
Câinilor (astăzi lichidată), fie la diferite petreceri de liceeni ori de
studenţi care se credeau buricul pământului. De la întoarcerea asta în timp a
pornit totul, aici a fost declanşatorul unui poem şi al unei cărţi întregi
alcătuită dintr-un singur poem (cu trei straturi).
Ruxandra Cesereanu:
Mi se întâmplă ceva ciudat, dar e o ciudăţenie benefică, şi mă umple de
energie şi de viaţă, de ultraviaţă, cum o numesc eu. Pentru că mi-e limpede că
această carte, pentru mine, reprezintă deja o formă de viaţă, în aşa fel încât
mie mi-e limpede că ea se va tot mări. Cred că straturile adăugate vor stimula
alte straturi, mai ales în timpul vacanţelor de vară, probabil, pentru că mai
ales atunci se declanşează proustianismul meu, straturile de amintiri sau
straturile metapoetice se concentrează. Mi-e limpede că această carte va tot
creşte în timp, dar de acum înainte ea va rămâne un manuscris personal, pentru
că nu voi mai publica aceste adaosuri. Deja am publicat şi o ediţie bilbiofilă
în care am adăugat 17 fragmente, de acum încolo indiferent cât voi mai scrie,
va fi vorba doar de un manuscris electronic, doar al meu, care va avea o
funcţie vitală.
S-a spus despre California (pe Someş) că este un volum despre poezie ca vocaţie de
viaţă şi despre încrederea existenţială în poezie. De fapt, poemul conţine şi
referinţe livreşti esenţiale pentru poezia Ruxandrei Cesereanu:
Eu, personal, m-am format
într-un mediu în care poezia reprezenta un standard estetic înalt. Tatăl meu
îmi citea poezie în adolescenţă, el mi-a adus pe la 17, 18 ani, cărţile
optzeciştilor, cu el am început să citesc şi să comentez poezie optzecistă, bineînţeles,
cu el am început să citesc marea poezie a lumii. Cumva, am crescut cu ideea că
poezia e ceva maxim. Dar nu ştiam pe vremea aceea că poezia va deveni pentru
mine ceva suprem. Sigur că astăzi noi încercăm să ne ferim de cuvinte patetice,
pentru că trăim într-o societate într-un anume sens dezvrăjită şi post
postmodernă, care nu mai vrea să fie centrată pe arhetipuri. Eu, însă, sunt
adaptată la această societate post postmodernă, dar rămân şi cu credinţele mele
de odinioară, care s-au sintetizat până acum, pentru că mă aflu la maturitate.
Drept pentru care, poezia reprezintă pentru mine o formă de mântuire, o
mântuire la nivel vital. Cred în poezie şi port o bătălie pentru poezie
pentru că ea este arta supremă pentru mine, probabil singurul tip de literatură
pe care-l pot echivala muzicii simfonice. Şi când vorbesc despre poezie nu mă
refer la versificaţie, ci la nişte versuri creditate estetic într-o formă
avansată. Despre asta este vorba când spun că port o bătălie pentru poezie.
Chiar cred că în lumea noastră dezvrăjită mai există soluţii de revrăjire prin
poveşti, pentru că lumea poate fi salvată prin poveşti, prin poezie şi prin
credinţa într-o anumită poezie. Nu cred că lumea mai poate fi salvată printr-o
poezie a derizoriului, dar nici printr-o poezie sentimentalistă, a diafanului
patetic. Există însă ceea ce eu numesc poezia combinată cu metapoezie în care
credinţa în literatură devine de fapt o formă de viaţă.
