    European Cultural Heritage Summit 2024

    Bucharest plays host to the most important event of the community block dedicated to the preservation of the cultural heritage.

     

    Romania is at the center of the European and universal heritage due to its impressive cultural diversity and the passion and professionalism of numerous specialists, Romanian President Klaus Iohannis said in his message at the European Cultural Heritage Summit 2024, held in Bucharest between October 6-8. Organized by Europa Nostra, the largest federation of European professional NGOs, the Summit is the most important event dedicated to the preservation of cultural heritage in the community bloc.

     

    Specialists in the field discussed public policy priorities at European level, as well as in the relation with the Romanian authorities. According to Iohannis, the event in Bucharest unfolded in a context marked by a series of crises with a serious global impact on peace, security, community development and mankind as a whole. He pointed out that, in such a complicated period, monuments, museums, memorial houses, traditions and their keepers become even more important, as cultural landmarks of fundamental values.

     

    “The Europe we inherited is a construct and a memory space. The Union in which we find ourselves today, with the prosperity and security we expect from it, relies more and more on education, interculturality and the fruition of diversity”, the head of state pointed out. He also said that the cultural heritage has become an irreplaceable resource of prosperity and sustainable development, and that, for the future of Europe, culture is vital, because it fuels freedom and democracy. On Monday evening, the winners of the European Heritage Awards, the Europa Nostra Awards 2024, the most important awards for heritage in Europe, were celebrated in a high-profile event held in the iconic building of the Romanian Athenaeum in Bucharest.

     

    Five laureates were selected from this year’s 26 winners, from 18 European countries, based on the recommendation of an independent panel of experts. These include the Ignacy Historic Mine in Rybnik, Poland, the Saxon Church in Alma Vii, Romania, the Traditional Farm Buildings Scheme in Ireland, Citizen’s Rehabilitation of the Tsiskarauli Tower, in Georgia and the Society of Friends of Dubrovnik Antiquities in Croatia.

     

    The Romanian project was the Grand Prix winner in the category Conservation & Adaptive Reuse. This project restored a cultural landmark that symbolises centuries of history and craftsmanship in the picturesque village of Alma Vii in Transylvania. The comprehensive restoration not only preserved the church’s architectural and historical integrity but also empowered the local community and fostered sustainable tourism.

    From Norway to Portugal, from France to Ukraine… 30 projects with outstanding heritage achievements from 21 countries have received Europe’s top Heritage Awards. The 30 projects were selected by a jury composed of heritage experts from across the continent. Among the winners this year are two from Romania: Pathfinders of the Waters and Via Transilvanica. Pathfinders of the Waters from the Danube Delta, is set in villages along the Danube with limited access to cultural activities.



    Through the Delta’s traditional craft – the wooden fishing boat known as the lotca – the value of local heritage and the acquisition of new skills are promoted among children. More specifically, through these boat building workshops, children better understand the value of heritage, learn to reconnect with local resources and appreciate the cultural and ethnic diversity of the area where they live. The basis of the project was the legend of Romanian canoeing, the athlete Ivan Patzaichin (1949-2021), winner of 30 titles at the Olympic Games, World and European Championships.



    As for Via Transilvanica, with its 1,400 kilometers, it is the longest hiking route in Romania. It crosses 20 ethnic and cultural regions, around 400 communities, as well as 12 UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Inaugurated in 2022, after 4 years of hard work, with the involvement of local communities and over 10,000 volunteers, Via Transilvanica crosses Romania from the northeast to the southwest and can be traveled on foot, by bicycle or on horseback. The project was established by Tășuleasa Social, an NGO involved for over 23 years in educational, social, environmental and cultural activities.



    Reacting to the announcement of the 2023 winners, Margaritis Schinas, Vice-President for Promoting our European Way of Life, who is currently in charge of Culture, stated: By honouring these achievements, we also reiterate our firm commitment to protecting our shared cultural heritage, because it is vital for our sense of togetherness as citizens and communities of Europe.



    The awards ceremony will take place at the Palazzo del Cinema in Venice on September 28. During the ceremony, the Grand Prix laureates and the Public Choice Award winner, chosen from among this year’s winners and entitled to receive €10,000 each, will be announced. Heritage supporters are therefore encouraged to discover the 30 winners and vote online to decide who will win the Public Choice Award. (MI)

    Tout donner pour sauvegarder le patrimoine national

    L’année dernière, la Fondation « L’ambulance des monuments » a figuré parmi les lauréats du Grand Prix, et elle a également remporté le Prix du public du Concours Europa Nostra. En 2021, un autre projet roumain a remporté le même trophée Europa Nostra. La Fondation Pro Patrimonio figure parmi les quatre lauréats des prix européens du Patrimoine de cette année suite à la restauration de l’église en bois du 18e siècle de la commune d’Ursi, comté de Vâlcea, dans le sud-est du pays. Hormis le jury constitué d’experts, quelque 7 000 citoyens européens ont voté en ligne pour le Prix du public via le site Europa Nostra, la majorité préférant les projets réalisés par la Fondation Pro Patrimonio. Les gagnants ont été célébrés récemment à Venise, dans le cadre du Sommet européen du patrimoine culturel 2021 et ont reçu des messages de félicitations de la part du président du Parlement européen, David Sassoli, et de la Commissaire européenne à l’Innovation, la recherche, la culture, l’éducation et la jeunesse, Mariya Gabriel.

    Quelle a été la réaction de l’équipe roumaine ? C’est Ana Chiricuță, spécialiste en restauration dans le cadre de la fondation Pro Patrimonio qui nous l’explique : « Nous sommes très fiers et très reconnaissants tant au public qui nous a votés, qu’à ceux qui nous ont soutenus, parce que nous avons eu beaucoup de collaborateurs, notamment dans la communauté locale, en milieu rural. C’est ce qui a fait la différence : le fait d’avoir constamment collaboré avec les communautés, qui à leur tour nous ont beaucoup aidés. Tous nos efforts et ceux des spécialistes de la restauration auraient été en vain, en l’absence des efforts faits par les communautés pour préserver les monuments et ensuite de les mettre en valeur. Nous sommes très heureux d’avoir désormais davantage d’amis et de collaborateurs. Parmi eux, des jeunes qui ont même participé aux opérations de restauration des peintures sous notre supervision. Hormis le travail effectif dans le cadre du chantier et leur aide, ils nous ont même soutenus avec de la nourriture, avec des moyens de transport, pendant toutes les années que nous y avons passées. Il s’agissait de périodes de trois, quatre et même cinq mois. Ils nous ont aidés à trouver de l’hébergement, ils nous ont soutenus à tout moment et finalement c’est ce qui a beaucoup compté, surtout qu’il s’agissait de bénévolat et de fonds provenant de dons. Ce fut un aspect qui a beaucoup compté. »

    C’est ainsi que les villageois d’Ursi ont découvert la valeur patrimoniale de la petite église de leur communauté et ont appris à l’apprécier pleinement. Ana Chiricuță : « L’église d’Urși est assez petite du point de vue de sa taille. Elle fut érigée en 1797 et a reçu une fresque en 1843. C’est son trait définitoire. La majorité des églises en bois du pays sont peintes selon la technique « alsecco », mais il y a certains endroits, surtout dans le nord de l’Olténie, où les églises en bois ont été peintes dans la technique de la fresque. Cela signifie que la peinture a été appliquée sur de la chaux fraiche. L’église d’Ursi est la seule à avoir préservé en grande partie sa peinture intérieure et extérieure. Ce fut un facteur décisif pour la Fondation Pro Patrimonio, qui souhaite faire plus qu’intervenir d’urgence, elle veut poursuivre le projet de conservation. La Fondation a travaillé de près avec le département de conservation et restauration de l’Université nationale d’Art de Bucarest. L’université nationale d’Art s’est chargée de la restauration des peintures intérieures alors que la fondation Pro Patrimonio a pris en charge la restauration architecturale et a coordonné l’entier projet. »

    L’équipe Pro Patrimonio a restauré à Urși la peinture murale et son iconostase. C’est pour ces raisons qu’a été mise au point une collaboration interdisciplinaire entre spécialistes dans différents domaines : chimie, biologie, histoire de l’art, un aspect qui a été également apprécié par le jury du concours Europa Nostra. Les restaurateurs ont utilisé des techniques, des outils, des matériaux traditionnels et appelé des artisans locaux de la région d’Olténie, mais aussi du Maramures, dans l’extrême nord du pays. Ces derniers étaient spécialisés dans la construction des toits en tavaillons, un métier rare actuellement en Roumanie. Avant de terminer, précisons que les prix européens du patrimoine – les Prix Europa Nostra ont été lancés par la Commission européenne en 2002, étant gérés par l’organisation Europa Nostra – la Voix européenne de la société civile engagée dans la protection du patrimoine culturel et naturel. Les prix bénéficient de l’appui du programme l’Europe créative de l’Union européenne. En 2021, les quatre lauréats des Grands Pris et le gagnant du Prix du public ont été sélectionnés parmi les 24 initiatives de 18 Etats européens. (Trad. Alex Diaconescu)

    Fundația Pro Patrimonio, laureată a Marelui Premiu Europa Nostra

    După ce anul trecut Ambulanța pentru monumente a fost atât unul dintre laureații Marelui Premiu, cât și câștigătorul Premiului Public, în 2021 i-a venit rândul unui alt proiect românesc să câștige distincțiile Europa Nostra. Fundația Pro Patrimonio se numără printre cei patru laureați ai Premiilor Europene pentru Patrimoniu / Premiilor Europa Nostra de anul acesta datorită restaurării bisericii de lemn de secol XVIII din comuna Urși, județul Vâlcea (sud-vest). Pe lângă juriul de experți, aproximativ 7000 de cetățeni din întreaga Europă au votat online pentru Premiul Publicului prin intermediul site-ului Europa Nostra, majoritatea preferând realizările Fundației Pro Patrimonio. Câștigătorii au fost sărbătoriți recent, la Veneția, în cadrul Summit-ului European pentru patrimoniu cultural 2021 și au primit mesaje de felicitare de la Președintele Parlamentului European, David Sassoli, și de la Comisarul European pentru Inovare, Cercetare, Cultură, Educație și Tineret, Mariya Gabriel. Cum s-a simțit echipa românească, ne spune acum Ana Chiricuță, restauratoare în cadrul Fundației Pro Patrimonio.


    Ne simțim foarte mândri și foarte recunoscători atât publicului care ne-a votat, cât și celor care ne-au susținut pentru că am avut foarte mulți susținători și colaboratori, în special, în comunitatea din sat. Asta a făcut o diferență destul de mare: faptul că am avut o colaborare continuă cu cei din comunitate și ei au lucrat cot la cot cu noi și ne-au sprijinit cu toate forțele lor. Toate eforturile noastre, ale specialiștilor de restaurare, nu ar fi nimic fără comunitatea care să păstreze monumentul și să-l valorifice pe mai departe. De aia i-am și implicat pe localnici și de aia suntem foarte fericiți că au devenit prietenii și colaboratorii noștri. Au lucrat pe șantier. Au fost tineri care au lucrat chiar la operațiunile de restaurare a picturii sub îndrumarea noastră. În afară de lucrul efectiv pe șantier și de ajutorul pe care ni l-au dat acolo, ei ne-au susținut cu mâncare, cu transport în toți anii în care am lucrat acolo și toate verile, timp de trei, patru sua cinci luni pe an cât am lucrat acolo. Ne-au ajutat cu cazarea, ne-au susținut și asta a contat foarte mult, fiind vorba de voluntariat și de fonduri private provenit din donații. A contat foarte mult lucrul ăsta.



    În felul acesta, sătenii din Urși au descoperit valoarea de patrimoniu a bisericuței din satul lor și au învățat cum s-o aprecieze. Ana Chiricuță. Bisericuța din Urși e o biserică destul de mică ca proporții. A fost construită în 1797 și a primit în 1843 o pictură în frescă. Asta este caracteristica ei specială. Majoritatea bisericilor de lemn din țară sunt pictate în tehnica Alsecco, dar sunt câteva locuri, mai ales în nordul Olteniei, unde bisericile de lemn au fost pictate în tehnica frescei. Asta înseamnă o pictură pe tencuială de var proaspăt, realizată cât tencuiala e încă proaspătă, iar biserica din Urși este singura care mai păstrează într-o proporție mare pictura interioară și pictura exterioară. Asta a fost un factor decisiv pentru Fundația Pro Patrimonio pentru a face mai mult decât intervenția de urgență și pentru a continua proiectul de conservare. Fundația a lucrat îndeaproape cu Departamentul de Conservare Restaurare al Universității Naționale de Arte din București. De partea de restaurare a picturii s-a ocupat Universitatea Națională de Arte. Fundația Pro Patrimoniu s-a ocupat de restaurarea arhitecturii și a coordonat tot procesul.



    Echipa Pro Patrimonio a restaurant, la Urși, pictura murală și iconostasul. În acest scop, s-a pus la pus la punct o colaborare interdisciplinară între specialiștii din domenii precum chimie, biologie și istoria artei, aspect apreciat de juriul care a acordat premiile Europa Nostra. S-au folosit meșteșuguri, unelte și materiale tradiționale și, de asemenea, s-a apelat la meșteri olteni, de-ai locului, dar și la meșteri maramureșeni, specializați în acoperișuri cu șiță.


    Premiile Europene pentru Patrimoniu/Premiile Europa Nostra au fost lansate de Comisia Europeană în anul 2002 fiind încă de atunci gestionate de Europa Nostra – Vocea europeană a societății civile angajată în protejarea patrimoniului cultural și natural. Premiile au sprijinul programului Europa Creativă al Uniunii Europene. În 2021, cei patru laureați ai Marilor Premii și câștigătorul Premiului Publicului au fost selectați dintr-un număr de 24 de inițiative din 18 tări europene.

    Tania Criste are
    23 de ani și este masterandă la Universitatea Babeș-Bolyai
    din Cluj,     în cadrul
    Facultății de Istorie și Filosofie, specializarea Patrimoniu și turism
    cultural. Iubește cultura, istoria și tot ceea ce ține de patrimoniul material
    și imaterial al României. Cum a început pasiunea ei?

    Tania Criste: Încă de mică, am fost încurajată să învăț istorie. Tatăl meu avea
    noțiuni destul de vaste de istorie și de geografie, iar sub îndrumarea lui am
    prins foarte mare drag de domeniul istoriei, în special, eram tot timpul
    curioasă să aflu lucruri, să înțeleg de ce evoluăm, de ce trecem prin anumite
    etape, de unde am pornit ca popor și de ce suntem aici în prezent. Încercam să
    aflu cât mai multe despre evoluția noastră. În liceu, eram deja foarte hotărâtă
    să merg la Facultatea de Istorie și Filosofie, la specializarea Istorie.
    Ulterior, după ce am dat examenul de Bacalaureat, mi-am zis că totuși nu aș
    vrea să fac istorie pură, în ideea în care îmi doream să aflu cât mai multe
    informații și să cuprind un domeniu cât mai vast al culturii. Astfel, am găsit
    o secție foarte interesantă în cadrul aceleiași facultăți, de turism cultural.
    Era o specializare nouă, introdusă de doar câțiva ani.



    Pentru Tania,
    este esențial ca familia să ghideze primii pași ai copilului și să îi deschidă
    calea către informație. Crede că educația primită în primii ani de viață este
    esențială:

    Bineînțeles, nu este un domeniu foarte
    apreciat în România, pentru că lipsește educația cu privire la cultură, la
    patrimoniu. Foarte puțini oameni cunosc cuvântul patrimoniu și sensul acestuia.
    Și problema aceasta își are rădăcinile în anii pe care noi îi petrecem alături
    de părinți, înainte să mergem la școală. Din păcate, și este un fenomen destul
    de răspândit în România, uneori nu primim o educație despre ceea ce înseamnă
    cultura. Desigur, este mult mai ușor să îi dai copilului tableta în mână,
    smartphone-ul sau să îl lași în fața televizorului și să îl ții ocupat, în loc
    să îi dedici timpul tău, ca părinte, să încerci să-l înveți, să-l faci să
    înțeleagă anumite lucruri. Asta este foarte important. Din fericire, eu am avut
    parte în copilărie de niște părinți care m-au îndrumat să învăț despre
    lucrurile de care urma să mă lovesc mai târziu și să respect foarte mult
    lucrurile cu care ne identificăm noi, românii.


    Tania Criste
    este, în prezent, voluntar în cadrul Ambulanței pentru Monumente. Cum a luat
    decizia de a deveni parte din acest proiect?

    Anul acesta, având în
    vedere că pandemia mi-a dat planurile peste cap, am fost foarte hotărâtă. Îmi
    doream de mai mult timp să intru în asociație, dar abia anul acesta am avut
    timpul necesar ca să mă dedic proiectului. Am fost foarte plăcut surprinsă de
    faptul că Ambulanța pentru Monumente încurajează foarte mult tinerii, fie că
    sunt studenți la Arhitectură, la Istorie sau efectiv membri ai unei comunități.
    Ne încurajează foarte mult și învățăm. Prin această activitate, noi ne educăm
    foarte mult.


    Iar rezultatele
    și satisfacțiile muncii acestor voluntari sunt pe măsură. Tania Criste crede că
    cea mai mare realizare este momentul în care comunități întregi sunt aduse
    laolaltă pentru un scop comun.

    Pe lângă faptul că este vorba de multă
    muncă fizică, ne educăm. Cumva, comunitatea primește un exemplu prin ceea ce
    facem noi. Integrăm comunitatea în activitățile noastre, deși sunt zone unde
    acest lucru se întâmplă mai greu. Dar sunt și zone cu oameni înțelegători cu
    noi și care chiar își dau interesul. Am fost surprinsă să văd că sunt oameni
    care își dau foarte mult interesul pentru ceea ce facem împreună în cadrul
    Ambulanței pentru Monumente.


    De curând, Ambulanța pentru Monumente a primit premiul
    publicului în cadrul Premiilor Europene pentru Patrimoniu / Premiilor Europa
    Nostra 2020, cea mai înaltă distincție a Europei în domeniul patrimoniului.

    VISIT – Romania is a profoundly pro-Europe state, and a supporter of the project aimed at relaunching the EU, said Romanias president Klaus Iohannis during the meeting he held on Wednesday in Bucharest with the President of the German Bundestag Norbert Lammert. In turn, the German official said that the EU was the best response to globalisation, and the idea promoted by some politicians that sovereign competences would be regained by weakening the EU was an illusion. According to a communiqué issued by the Romanian Presidential Administration, the two officials also approached bilateral cooperation, the future of the EU and the refugee issue. The Bundestag President voiced his support for the continuation of the fight against corruption and strengthening the rule of law, as well as his appreciation for the Romanian citizens civic and pro-European spirit.



    JUSTICE – The Romanian justice minister Tudorel Toader announced on Wednesday that the bill aimed to harmonize the provisions of the Criminal Codes with the rulings issued by the Constitutional Court will be open for public debate and then submitted to Parliament to undergo the appropriate legislative procedures. He underlined that the bill does not establish a minimum cap for the damage caused in a case of abuse of office. Partially decriminalising the offence of abuse of office, by introducing a ceiling of 45,000 Euro, under which such acts would have not been considered criminal offences, was one of the amendments introduced by Toaders predecessor Florin Iordache in the controversial emergency decree number 13, adopted in January. The emergency decree, which was later repealed, caused the largest street protests in post-communist Romania.



    CORRUPTION – The former head of the National Health Insurance Agency Lucian Duta is subject to judicial restrictions pending trial, in a case in which he is accused of bribe taking. According to anti-corruption prosecutors, he reportedly took some 8 million Euros in bribe, in several instalments, from representatives of various companies. In exchange for the money, Duta allegedly signed several contracts related to the single IT system and the implementation of the health card. The former head of the Health Insurance Agency in Romania has 10 days to pay a 1 million Euro bail. Otherwise, a more severe measure might be enforced.



    EU – Romania and France share their vision of the future of the EU, with focus on unity and cohesion and a better cooperation between the 27 member states, the Romanian Minister Delegate for European Affairs Ana Birchall has stated. On Wednesday, she concluded her two day visit to Paris, where she held talks with the French Secretary of State for European Affairs Harlem Desir and the Chairman of the European Affairs Committee of the French Senate Jean Bizet. The officials approached issues such as the future of the EU, Brexit and the Schengen area. Also, the agenda of talks included the preparation for Romanias taking over the presidency of the EU council in the first half of 2019.



    NORTH KOREA – On Wednesday, the Romanian Foreign Ministry reacted to the news that North Korea had launched another medium-range ballistic missile, terming it a violation of the UN Security Councils resolutions. The Romanian Foreign Ministry also stressed the fact that such repeated actions were major threats to world peace and security and made an appeal to the Pyongyang authorities to fully observe the international regulations in force and to avoid actions that might destabilize the situation in the peninsula and in the world. In the past years, North Korea has conducted two nuclear tests and in 2016 it launched some 20 ballistic missiles. The international community is concerned that Pyongyang might actually work on building an inter-continental ballistic missile.



    BREXIT – The European Parliament (EP) on Wednesday endorsed, by a large majority, a resolution establishing priorities in the negotiations over the UKs exiting the Union. According to the Radio Romania correspondent, the resolution benefits from the support of the big political parties in the EP. The main provision of the resolution is ensuring a fair treatment of all the EU citizens in Great Britain, while at the same time protecting the rights of the British who live in EU countries. Also, the resolution provides that, by the time Brexit becomes official, the UK should observe the four European fundamental freedoms: the free movement of goods, people, services and capital. The EP plays a major role with regard to the Brexit issue, especially through the vote on the final agreement.



    AWARD – The Culture Palace in Blaj, central Romania, is the recipient of the 2017 European Union Prize for Cultural Heritage, in the Conservation category. In the Dedicated Service category, the award went to Zoltan Kallos, an ethnologist with a research career spanning more than 70 years and focusing on the Hungarian, Romanian, Saxon and Rroma communities in Transylvania. The prize, known as Europa Nostra, is the highest distinction awarded in Europe in this field. The 29 winners from 18 countries are recognized for their outstanding contribution in the fields of conservation, research, dedicated services and education, training and awareness. The jury was made up of independent experts and examined some 200 applications submitted by organizations and natural persons from 39 European countries.



    ICE HOCKEY – On Thursday, Romanias national mens ice hockey team will take on Iceland, in the third match of the World Championship, Second Division, underway in the Romanian city of Galati, in eastern Romania. In the first two matches, Romania defeated Belgium 9-1 and Serbia 4-1. The Romanian teams goal is to come in first in the group, as this would secure its promotion to the next stage. These are the first matches played under the training of the new coach of the Romanian team, the Canadian Martin Lacroix.



    HANDBALL – The Romanian Cristina Neagu, playing for Buducnost Podgorita, designated the worlds best handball player in 2016 and four players with the CSM Bucharest handball club, namely Majda Mehmedovic, Isabelle Gullden, Anastasia Lobaci and Carmen Martin, have been nominated to be part of the Champion Leagues All-Star Team. This year, the European Handball Federation has nominated 50 players and trainers from 18 countries and 12 clubs that have played in the Champions League in the current season. The voting will be held online, between April 5th – May 2nd. The membership of the All-Star team will be announced at the final tournament in Budapest, due on May 6th -7th.

    Ulterior atacurilor teroriste din capitala Franţei, Uniunea Europeană îşi propune să adopte noi măsuri pentru combaterea acestui fenomen.     Ukraine – Le chef de la diplomatie roumaine, Titus Corlatean, a participé ces lundi et mardi, à Vienne, à la réunion ministérielle du Conseil de l’Europe. Loccasion de réaffirmer la solidarité de la Roumanie avec lUkraine voisine, mais aussi de mettre en exergue la nécessité du maintien de la souveraineté et de lindépendance de ce pays. La Roumanie est également préoccupée par les effets déstabilisants de cette crise pour la sécurité du continent européen en son ensemble, y compris pour la région séparatiste russophone de Transnistrie, dans lest de la République de Moldova, a encore précisé le ministre roumain des Affaires étrangères. Dans le même temps, Titus Corlatean a souligné limportance de la défense des droits humains et des droits des minorités ethniques, 400.000 Ukrainiens roumanophones vivant dans ce pays, soit la deuxième minorité après les russophones en Ukraine, selon un communiqué du ministère roumain des Affaires étrangères. En marge de cette réunion ministérielle, le chef de la diplomatie roumaine sest entretenu avec nombre de ses homologues européens, dont celui ukrainien, Andrii Dechtchitsa.



    Commerce – Le volume du commerce en détail en Roumanie a augmenté de 13,4% par rapport à la même période de 2013, soit la hausse la plus importante enregistrée dans un pays membre de lUE, apprend-on dun rapport de lOffice statistique des communautés européennes, EUROSTAT. Le podium est complété par le Luxembourg (12,1%) et la Hongrie (8,4%). Les seuls pays membres confrontés à une baisse du volume des ventes dans ce secteur sont Malte (2%), la Finlande (1,3%), la Slovénie (1,1%) et lEspagne (0,6%). Sur lUE 28, le retail progresse de 1,6%, tandis quil monte de 0,9% dans la zone euro. Ces pourcentages sont influencés par la hausse de 3,3% des ventes des produits non-alimentaires, les ventes de vivres, boissons et cigarettes reculant de 0,1%.



    Prix – Le projet de restauration des fresques de léglise du monastère de Dragomirna (17e siècle, département de Suceava, dans le nord-est de la Roumanie) sest vu décerner un des six Grand Prix du Patrimoine culturel de lUE de même que le Prix du public, lors dune cérémonie à Vienne. Ces prix sont octroyés par lUE et le réseau dassociations et dorganisations Europa Nostra. Le Prix du public a été choisi à lissue dun sondage en ligne portant sur les 27 projets primés de cette année. Plus de 10 000 personnes ont exprimé leur choix, au moyen dun sondage en ligne organisé sur le site web d’Europa Nostra, pour choisir le meilleur projet. Mme Androulla Vassiliou, commissaire européenne à l’éducation, à la culture, au multilinguisme et à la jeunesse, et Plácido Domingo, chanteur dopéra et président d’Europa Nostra, ont décerné les prix aux lauréats réunis au Burgtheater dans la capitale autrichienne, lors dune cérémonie déroulée sous le patronage du président fédéral autrichien, Heinz Fischer.

    Rumänisches Kloster Dragomirna mit dem europäischen Preis für Kulturerbe ausgezeichnet

    Die Klöster Humor, Suceviţa, Moldoviţa, Voroneţ stehen auf der UNESCO-Welterbeliste und ziehen regelmä‎ßig Touristen aus aller Ecken der Welt nach Nordosten Rumäniens, in die Region Bukowina an. Nicht nur die beeindruckende Zahl der Klöster, sondern auch die ausgezeichnete Qualität der Innen-und Au‎ßenfresken, die aus dem Mittelalter stammen und heute noch sehr gut bewahrt werden stellen ein wahres Kulturerbe Rumäniens dar. Die Klöster werden in einzigartigen Farben bemalt, die sie in der ganzen Welt berühmt machen. Das Blau von Voroneţ” oder das Rot von Humor” werden von Fachleuten als einzigartig in der Welt bezeichnet.





    Das Kloster Dragomirna, das rund 15 Kilometer von der Stadt Suceava liegt, zählt zu den 2014 Gewinnern der Preise für Kulturerbe, die von der Europäischen Kommission und dem europäischen Verbund nichtstaatlicher Denkschutzorganisationen Europa Nostra”, geleitet vom berühmten Tenor Placido Domingo, verliehen werden. Das rumänische Kloster wurde für seine Fresken aus dem 17. Jahrhundert mit einem der begehrten Preise ausgezeichnet. Die 400 Jahre alten Fresken wurden jüngst von einem begeisterten Fachteam, gebildet aus Experten und Studenten aus verschiedenen Ländern restauriert. Die Jury wurde von dem hohen Professionalismus der Restauratoren beeindruckt, die die Arbeit sehr schnell durchführten.





    Der Präsident der Kulturbehörde Suceava, Aurel Buzincu mit Einzelheiten: Das Kloster Dragomirna war in den letzten Jahren zusammen mit den Klöstern Moldoviţa und Suceviţa Nutznie‎ßer eines EU-Finanzierungsprojektes. Viele Arbeiten, insbesondere wichtige Modernisierungsarbeiten wurden mit diesen Finanzmitteln durchgeführt. Die Malerei im Kirchenschiff wurde zudem gereinigt und restauriert, eine äu‎ßerst interessante Malerei die jetzt meiner Meinung nach sehr gut aussieht.





    Von den 160 nominierten Projekten aus 30 Ländern wurden 27 Gewinner in den vier Bereichen Erhaltung, Forschung, engagierter Einsatz sowie Bildung, Ausbildung und Bewusstseinsbildung ausgezeichnet. Die feierliche Verleihung findet am 5. Mai im Burgtheater in Wien unter der Schirmherrschaft des österreichischen Präsidenten Heinz Fischer statt. EU-Kommissarin für Bildung, Kultur, Mehrsprachigkeit und Jugend, Androulla Vassiliou und der berühmte Tenor und Europa-Nostra-Präsident Placido Domingo werden die Auszeichnungen gemeinsam überreichen. Sechs Gewinner werden mit einem mit 10.000 Euro dotierten Hauptpreis ausgezeichnet, au‎ßerdem wird ein Publikumspreis auf der Grundlage einer von Europa Nostra” organisierten Online-Abstimmung verliehen.





    “Das Kulturerbe Europas ist eine der wichtigsten Sachen die wir haben“, betont die Europäische Kommission. Durch das Programm Kultur“ wurden im Zeitraum 2007-2013 rund 40 Millionen Euro zur Kofinanzierung von Projekten zum Kulturerbe investiert. Das neue Programm für die Kultur-und Kreativbranche, Kreatives Europa”, das über ein Budget von knapp 1,5 Milliarden Euro für die kommenden sieben Jahre verfügt, bietet den grenzüberschreitenden Kooperationsprojekten bedeutende Unterstützungsmöglichkeiten.
