    Cozmin Gusa, the acting head of the Romanian Judo Federation
    since 2017, has been reelected president for a new four-year term in office.
    Acting president Gusa has received 118 votes in favor from a similar number of
    affiliated members, while 70 votes in favor have been cast for Gusa’s rival,
    George Teseleanu.

    In other news from judo, Romanian-born Austrian Marius
    Vizer is the only candidate for the position of president of the International
    Judo Federation, an organization he has been running since 2007. Federation
    presidential election will be held on June 3, 2021 at the Budapest Congress,
    scheduled prior to the World Championships.


    In news from football, from Friday and all through to
    Monday matches will be played, counting towards domestic League One’s 25th
    round. On Friday, Dinamo Bucharest play Viitorul Constanta. On Saturday, Gaz
    Metan Medias play a home game against UTA Arad. Also a home fixture is
    scheduled for Academica Clinceni, a team taking on Astra Giurgiu. Academica are
    6th-placed in Group 1, the most recent position in the group, after
    a string of very good results, being 5 points clear from the other teams in the
    echelon. Also on Saturday, Chindia Targoviste are pitted against Universitatea
    Craiova. The match will be venued by a stadium in Buzau, the chosen city for
    all of Chindia’s forthcoming home matches.
    On Sunday in Medias, FC Hermannstadt face Sepsi Sfantu Gheorghe, 4th-placed
    in Group 1. The day’s derby will see 5th-placed FC Botosani going against
    the current leader, FCSB. The 25th round’s last two fixtures will be
    played on Monday, when Poli Iasi are pitted against FC Voluntari, while CFR
    Cluj play FC Arges. FCSB and CFR Cluj
    are at the top of the table with a similar number of points, 51. However, FCSB
    have a better goal average.
