(1-0), joi seara, într-un meci din Grupa D a competiţiei Europa Conference
League. În
celălalt meci al grupei, Randers FC a remizat acasă cu FK Jablonec, 2-2. În
clasament, AZ Alkmaar ocupă primul loc cu 10 puncte, urmată de FK Jablonec 5

Sport Club RRI – Boxerul Lucian Bute va fi inclus în Panteonul sporturilor din Quebec

Fostul boxer
româno-canadian Lucian Bute, campion mondial IBF la categoria supermijlocie, va
fi inclus anul viitor în Panteonul sporturilor din Quebec, pentru performanţele
realizate în cariera sa, relatează publicaţia Journal de Montreal.

Potrivit Agerpres, Bute va fi
omagiat în cadrul unei gale care va avea loc în toamna anului 2021, alături de
hocheistul Guy Carbonneau, de schiorul de fond Alex Harvey, de hocheista
Caroline Ouellette şi de ciclista Marie-Hélene Prémont, o specialistă în
mountain bike. De asemenea,
în acest Hall of Fame al provinciei canadiene vor fi primiţi arbitra de fotbal
Sonia Denoncourt şi Tom Quinn, preşedintele Consiliului de administraţie al
Institutului Naţional de Sport din Quebec.

Lucian Bute s-a născut la
28 februarie 1980 în localitatea Pechea din judeţul Galaţi (estul României).
S-a remarcat pentru prima dată în 1997, când a cucerit primul său titlu de campion
naţional de juniori al României. Şi-a păstrat titlul şi în 1998, an în care a
cucerit şi medalia de bronz la Mondialele de juniori de la Buenos Aires. La
seniori, a obţinut o medalie de bronz la Mondialele de la Houston, în 1999, la
categoria 67 de kilograme. După ce a ratat, succesiv, calificarea la Jocurile
Olimpice de la Sydney, din 2000, şi de la Atena, din 2004, Lucian Bute a trecut
la profesionism.

În boxul profesionist,
Lucian Bute a câştigat centura de campion mondial la 19 octombrie 2007, când
l-a învins prin knock-out tehnic pe columbianul Alejandro Berrio. Şi-a apărat
cu succes de nouă ori titlul mondial IBF la supermijlocie între 2007 şi 2012.
Palmaresul său la profesionişti a inclus 32 de victorii, din care 25 prin KO,
şi 5 înfrângeri, din care 2 prin KO. Lucian Bute şi-a anunţat încheierea
carierei în martie 2019, la vârsta de 39 de ani.

Balonmano, tenis de mesa, voleibol, baloncesto, tenis, halterofilia, fútbol

Anoche, miércoles, la selección de balonmano femenino de Rumanía obtuvo una sensacional victoria ante el equipo de Rusia, vigente campeona olímpica, por un marcador de 22-17 (11-9). El partido tuvo lugar en Helsingborg, en el Grupo D del Campeonato Europeo – EURO 2016 de Suecia.

Las jugadoras rumanas de tenis de mesa Adina Diaconu y Andreea Dragoman ganaron las medallas de oro en la modalidad femenina de dobles este miércoles, en los Campeonatos Mundiales Juveniles celebrados en Cape Town (África del Sur).

En la final, Diaconu y Dragoman vencieron a las japonesas Hina Hayata y Miyu Kato por 4-2 .

La noche de este martes, el equipo rumano SCM “U” Craiova obtuvo una notable victoria ante el conjunto polaco PGE Skra Belchatow, por 3-1, en la Sala Polivalenta Oltenia de la ciudad rumana de Craiova, en su debút en el Grupo D de la Liga de los Campeones de voleibol masculino.

El equipo rumano CSM CSU Oradea sufrió una clara derrota ante el equipo turco Pinar Karshiyaka, por 79-50 , en un partido disputado la noche de este martes en Izmir, en el Grupo B de la Liga de los Campeones de baloncesto masculino.

El conjunto rumano jugará otros dos partidos antes de fin de año: en casa con el Maccabi Rand Media Rishon Lezion (14 de diciembre ) y fuera de casa con el Avtodor Saratov (21 de diciembre ).

La halterofilista Sorina Hulpan, deportista del club Steaua, se impuso con 3 medallas de oro en los Campeonatos Europeos de Juveniles que se celebran en Israel, en la categoría de menos de 63 kg.

Rumanía ha cosechado un total de 20 medallas en el Campeonato Europeo de Eilat, 8 de oro, 5 de plata y 7 de bronce. Así ,Doru Ilie Stoian ganó el oro en estilo arrancada, Ionut Ilie obtuvo este lunes 2 medallas de oro y una de plata en la categoría de 62 kg y nuestro representante Ilie Ciotoiu se quedó con 2 medallas de plata en arrancada y total, en la categoría de 56 kg. La pesista Monica Csengeri obtuvo 2 oros (en total y arrancada y una medalla de plata en dos tiempos ) en la categoría de menos de 48 kg.

El púgil rumano Lucian Bute, excampeon mundial de supermedia, disputará una pelea contra el colombiano Eleider Alvarez, el próximo 24 de febrero en el Centro Videotron de Quebec, según ha señalado el periódico La Presse de Canadá.

Lucian Bute, de 36 años, fue el campeón mundial en versión IBF de la categoría supermedia en el periodo 2007 – 2012. Cuenta con un palmarés de 32 victorias (25 por KO), un empate y 3 derrotas en el circuito profesional.

Eleider Alvarez, (32 años), aspirante al título mundial, tiene 20 victorias (10 KO), sin ninguna derrota como púgil profesional.

Victoria para la selección masculina de waterpolo de Rumanía, que superó a Eslovaquia por 12-10 , este martes, en el Complejo Olímpico Sydney 2000 de Izvorani, en un partido disputado en el Grupo A preliminar de la Liga Mundial.

La rumana Dor Geta Popescu con solo 13 años se ha convertido, desde este lunes, en la más joven alpinista del mundo para el pico Giluwe (4.367 m), de Papua-Nueva Guinea, el volcán más alto de Australia y Oceania, ha señalado la deportista en su blog privado. El delantero rumano Florin Andone logró un doblete con su equipo Deportivo La Coruña, en el partido de la décimocuarta jornada de La Liga Santander, disputado en el estadio de Riazor ante 20.683 espectadores. El Deportivo de La Coruña logró una contundente victoria frente a la Real Sociedad (5-1) en un partido en el que se guardó un minuto de silencio por las víctimas del accidente aéreo del Chapecoense brasileño en Colombia.

Andone anotó al minuto 42 y al 77, logrando así su primer doblete en La Liga. También ha marcado en la cuarta jornada consecutiva con el equipo coruñes. El rumano fue sustituido en el 81del partido por Joselu. Andone ha marcado 5 goles en 14 partidos en La Liga.

The Romanian Foreign Ministry Saturday expressed its surprise at the statements made by the President of Russia Vladimir Putin the previous day, when he said Romania might be within the range of Russian missiles, because it hosts components of the American missile shield. Bucharest says the Russian presidency ignores the actual situation that both Romania and its allies have explained repeatedly, regarding the defensive nature of the shield, which does not target the Russian Federation or any other state. The Romanian Foreign Ministry added that the statements might be viewed as a threat to regional security. Repeatedly distorting the facts can only fuel tensions, which comes against the openness proved by Romania and its Allies with respect to the missile defence issue, Bucharest concluded. Early this month, the American anti-missile system in Deveselu, southern Romania, became operational. It activates when its fixed or mobile radars detect hostile missiles.

The Romanian General Prosecutors Office has commenced prosecution against the Hexi Pharma production manager, Mihai Leva, in a case involving diluted disinfectants which the company supplied to tens of Romanian hospitals. Leva has been heard and is now subject to investigation under Court supervision. In the same case, the Hexi Pharma general manager, Flori Dinu, is accused of misrepresentation and preventing the combating of disease. Prosecutors say she coordinated the staff that promoted the Hexi Pharma products and signed contracts with Romanian hospitals while aware that the products have a different composition from the one specified on the label. The damages caused for the last 4 years alone through the supply of low-quality disinfectants are put at more than 6 million euros. According to judicial sources quoted by the media, Dinu is facing a 30-year prison sentence. Se cumplen 30 años del Steaua, campeón de Europa

Este martes, los jugadores, los entrenadores y los técnicos del equipo de fútbol Steaua de Bucarest de 1986 celebraron 30 años desde que ganaron la Copa de los Campeones Europeos, en el marco de un acontecimiento organizado por el Club Deportivo del Ejército en Bucarest .

El 7 de mayo de 1986, el Estadio Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán, ante 60.000 espectadores, prácticamente todos con el Barcelona, vio uno de esos saltos de guión imprevisibles en la historia del fútbol.

El Steaua de Bucarest logró anular el juego del Barcelona durante todo el partido, y se llegó con el 0-0 final a la tanda de penalties.

La Copa de Europa llegaba a Bucarest para asombro del mundo futbolístico gracias a un portero, Helmuth Duckadam, que a partir de esa noche fue conocido como “el Héroe de Sevilla”. No sólo paró uno o dos penalties decisivos: paró todos los lanzamientos azulgranas, hasta cuatro. Un hecho inédito hasta entonces.

El Steaua de Bucarest se convirtió en el primer equipo del bloque del Este en lograr la Copa de Europa. Ese mismo año, 1986, llegaría la Supercopa de Europa y la Intercontinental, ya con Hagi en el equipo.

El púgil rumano Lucian Bute pierde el cinturón mundial en versión WBC en la categoria supermedia, tras empatar la pelea contra el sueco de origen gambiano Badou Jack, vigente campeón mundial, este sábado, en una gala celebrada en EE.UU., en Washington.

Lucian Bute, de 36 años, cuenta con un palmarés de 32 victorias (25 KO), un empate y 3 derrotas. En 2014 fue derrotado por el canadiense Jean Pascal, y posteriormente perdió por decisión de puntos a manos del británico James DeGale, el pasado noviembre , la pelea por el título IBF.

En otra gala acogida en DC Armory, James DeGale ganó por unanimidad de puntos, ante el púgil mexicano Rogelio Medina, defendiendo así su cinturón IBF de supermedia.

Tenis

En Madrid tiene lugar el torneo de tenis WTA Premier que reparte 4.771.360 dólares en premios. Nada menos que la mitad de las jugadoras clasificadas para cuartos son rumanas. Así, Simona Halep e Irina Begu se enfrentan hoy jueves, mientras que Sorana Cîrstea jugará con Dominika Cibulkova (Eslovaquia). De esta forma, Rumanía tendrá al menos una representante en semifinales (Halep o Begu).

La también rumana Patricia Tig logró un resultado importante al derrotar este miércoles a la estadounidense Madison Keys, en 2 mangas, 6-3 y 6-4.

En cuartos jugará con Samantha Stosur, de EE.UU.(32 años, 23 WTA).

Este miércoles, Halep se clasificó para cuartos al derrotar por 6-2 y 6-3 a la jugadora suiza Timea Bacsinszky. Así, la rumana se tomó la revancha, después de haberse impuesto Bacsinszky, el pasado marzo en Miami.

Halep disputó la final del torneo de Madrid en 2014 (cuando perdió a manos de la rusa Maria Sharapova), pero el año pasado cedió en la primera ronda del torneo patrocinado por IonȚTiriac.

Rumanía será representada por dos deportistas, Alin Rontu y Mara Aiacoboae, en las pruebas de salto acuático en la Copa Europea de Natación que tendra lugar en Londres del próximo 9 al 15 de mayo. .

Karaté-Do

La Federación Rumana de Karaté WKC participará con un equipo compuesto por 91 deportistas en los Campeonatos Balcánicos para jóvenes y adultos organizados por World Union Karate-Do Federation (WUKF) en Modrica (Bosnia-Herzegovina), el 7 y el 8 de mayo.

Snooker

Orthodox and Greek Catholic believers worldwide are celebrating Easter, or the
Resurrection of Jesus Christ. In his Easter message, the Patriarch of the Romanian
Orthodox Church, Daniel, said the Resurrection of Christ is symbolical of the
triumph of love, which renders our lives meaningful. The high prelate also

VISIT -
The presence of Romanian troops on the theatre of operations in Afghanistan
comes as Romania’s firm response to NATO’s request to ensure that country’s
security and stability, says Romania’s President, Klaus Iohannis. The head of
state on Sunday visited the Romanian troops stationed at the military base in
Kandahar and celebrated Easter together. In a speech to the military, President
Iohannis underlined that Afghanistan is, for the North Atlantic Alliance, the
main battlefront against terrorism. He added that the reconstruction of that
country entails long-term efforts, fully assumed by the international
community. The Romanian President also met with brigadier general Antonio
Aguto, commander, Train, Advise, Assist Command – South, in Afghanistan. The
talks between the two officials underlined the excellent level of cooperation
between Romanian and US troops in the new common missions, focussed on
providing assistance and training the Afghan security forces.

NEW UCC -
The main customs formalities will be simplified as of May 1, following the
enforcement of the new Union Customs Code across the EU. The code sets common
and streamlined procedures in all EU member states, to make life simpler for
businesses doing trade in Europe. The same rules apply regardless of where in
the EU the goods are declared and once the goods have cleared customs in a
member state, they can circulate freely or be sold anywhere within the EU
customs territory, that is in any of the 28 member states. Furthermore, the use of
IT &C becomes mandatory. Thus, the European Commission hopes to reduce tax
evasion in the field of cross-border trade, which currently stands at 50
billion Euros a year.

NATIONAL OPERA ROW – Romanian Prime Minister Dacian
Ciolos on Tuesday will send to President Klaus Iohannis the proposal to revoke
Vlad Alexandrescu from the position of culture minister and to nominate another
person at the helm of that institution. The revocation comes against the
backdrop of the Bucharest National Opera scandal, which was generated by
general discontent about successive nominations at the top management of the
institution and about salary disparities between Romanian and foreign ballet
dancers. Protests led to the cancellation of three performances and prompted

tentative list of UNESCO World Heritage sites. The Prime Minister said he hadn’t
been briefed on the problems Vlad Alexandrescu claims to have been faced with,
and promised to request the new culture minister to go ahead with the reforms
started by his/her predecessor.

PAY RISE – Over one million one hundred thousand Romanian employees will receive a pay rise worth 200 lei (some 50 Euros), as of May 1st, following a government decision adopted at the end of 2015, which increased the minimum wage from 1,050 lei to 1,250 lei.

ROYAL FAMILY – Romania’s Crown Princess Margareta and Prince Radu, alongside officials
and members of other European Royal Houses, attended a series of
events held in Stockholm to mark the 70th anniversary of King Carl Gustaf XVI
of Sweden. Princess Margareta and Prince Radu who started an official visit to
Sweden on Friday, attended the special Easter mass at the Romanian Orthodox
Bishopric and met with members of the Romanian community. This is the third
official visit abroad by Romania’s royal family this year, after those to
Turkey and the Republic of Moldova. The Royal House recalls that King Carl

the Bucharest City Tour tourist line. Four double deckers will take the tour
of the city and of its main tourist objectives. The buses are equipped with
audio-guides in Romanian, English, French and Italian. A ticket costs 25 lei
(approximately 5 Euros) for adults and 10 lei (around 2 Euros and 20 cents) for
children in the 7-14 year age bracket. The travel pass can be purchased on the
bus and can be used all day long, for tourists to be able to visit all tourist
attractions in Romania’s capital city.

Badou Jack in Washington on Sunday morning for the WBC super middleweight belt,
the oldest and most prestigious belt in boxing. The match ended in a draw. In
such a situation, the belt is kept by the defending world super middleweight champion,
Badou Jack. Lucian Bute, 36, is the former super middleweight champion in the
IBF version. He successfully defended his title nine times, for nearly four
years and a half. Jack Badou, 32, defended his WBC belt for the second time.

EASTER – Orthodox and Greek Catholic believers worldwide are celebrating Easter, or the Resurrection of Jesus Christ. In his Easter message, the Patriarch of the Romanian Orthodox Church, Daniel, said the Resurrection of Christ is symbolical of the triumph of love, which renders our lives meaningful. The high prelate also mentioned the Romanians who live outside the borders of the country, saying “Let us not forget, in our prayers, those who live far from the country, longing for home. We are waiting for all of them to return to the country for good, because many of Romanias localities are sad and helpless without them. Our villages are getting old. Many children grow up without their parents and many old people are helpless without their sons and daughters who live far away, the patriarch also underlined at the Patriarchal Cathedral, during the Easter mass, which was also attended by Romanias President Klaus Iohannis and his wife. ROYAL FAMILY – Romanias Crown Princess Margareta and Prince Radu, alongside officials and members of other European Royal Houses, on Saturday attended a series of events held in Stockholm to mark the 70th anniversary of King Carl Gustaf XVI of Sweden. Princess Margareta and Prince Radu who started an official visit to Sweden on Friday, attend the special Easter mass at the Romanian Orthodox Bishopric and meet with members of the Romanian community. This is the third official visit abroad by Romanias royal family this year, after those to Turkey and the Republic of Moldova. The Royal House recalls that King Carl Gustaf XVI of Sweden and Queen Silvia paid a state visit to Romania back in 2003.

NEW UCC – The main customs formalities will be simplified as of today, following the enforcement of the new Union Customs Code across the EU. The code sets common and harmonised procedures in all EU member states, to make life simpler for businesses doing trade in Europe. Pierre Moscovici, Commissioner for Economic and Financial Affairs, Taxation and Customs said: An efficient EU Customs Union facilitates trade while at the same time enforcing necessary rules for security, safety and intellectual property rights. The new Union Customs Code opens the door to new state-of-the-art IT systems that will provide fast and quality data on goods being traded and will allow extremely close coordination among the administrations of our Member States, a press release issued by the European Commission writes. The Customs Union is unique in the world and is essential for the proper functioning of the Single Market. The new UCC reflects a move towards a more modern customs environment for EU countries, making European business more competitive and advancing the EU Strategy for growth and jobs. The use of IT &C will become a rule. Thus, the European Commission hopes to reduce tax evasion in the field of cross-border trade, which currently stands at 50 billion Euros a year.

PAY RISE – Over one million one hundred thousand Romanian employees will receive a pay rise worth 200 lei (some 50 Euros), as of May 1st, following a government decision adopted at the end of 2015, which increased the minimum wage from 1,050 lei to 1,250 lei.

NATIONAL OPERA ROW – Romanian Prime Minister Dacian Ciolos on Tuesday will send to President Klaus Iohannis the proposal to revoke Vlad Alexandrescu from the position of culture minister and to nominate another person at the helm of that institution. Vlad Alexandrescu seems to have lost his portfolio following the scandal which broke out at the Bucharest National Opera House. Romanian artists, old time employees of that institution, have done everything they could to remove from the institution the group of foreign ballet dancers brought to the Bucharest Opera House, a couple of years ago, by choreographer Johan Kobborg

Avion — Le ministère des affaires étrangères de Bucarest a annoncé être en contact permanent avec le gouvernement de la République de Moldova au sujet de la présence d’un avion roumain au-dessus de la Transnistrie, région séparatiste russophone de l’est de l’ancienne république soviétique à population majoritairement roumanophone. Les autorités transnistriennes auto-proclamées ont considéré qu’il s’agissait d’une violation de l’espace aérien de la région et ont placé la défense anti-aérienne en état d’alerte. Le ministère roumain des affaires étrangères précise que l’appareil en question appartient à une compagnie privée de Roumanie, gagnante d’un appel d’offres international de cartographie numérique de la République de Moldova. Les responsables de Chisinau sont au courant de cette action.

Sondage – 68% des Roumains considèrent que les chrétiens orthodoxes et catholiques devraient célébrer Pâques à la même date, constate un sondage d’opinion réalisé par l’IRES. La majorité de ce qui pensent ainsi ont plus de 65 ans, habitent dans un milieu urbain, notamment en Transylvanie (centre) et au Banat (sud-ouest), des régions où vit un grand nombre de familles de confession mixte, catholique et orthodoxe. 87% des interviewés affirment avoir l’intention d’assister à la messe de Pâques. Le sondage a été réalisé en avril, sur un échantillon représentatif de 1240 personnes de plus de 18 ans. La marge d’erreur est de +/- 2,8%.

Pâques — Pour les chrétiens orthodoxes et grecs-catholiques du monde, y compris de Roumanie, pays majoritairement de confession orthodoxe, aujourd’hui c’est le Samedi Saint, dernier jour avant la fête de Pâques. A Jérusalem, a lieu la messe de la Sainte Lumière, officiée par le Patriarche grec d ela ville. Une délégation du Patriarcat orthodoxe roumain ramènera, ce soir, la lumière sainte à bord d’un avion, depuis Jérusalem. Visite — La princesse héritière de la famille royale roumaine, Margarita de Roumanie, et son époux, le prince Radu, participent aujourd’hui, à Stockholm, aux cérémonies consacrées au 70e anniversaire du roi Carl Gustave XVI de Suède. Dimanche, le couple princier roumain assistera à la messe du deuxième jour de la Pâque orthodoxe, à l’Evêché orthodoxe roumain de la capitale suédoise et rencontrera des membres de la communauté roumaine. Le roi Carl Gustave et la reine Silvia de Suède ont effectué une visite d’Etat en Roumanie en 2003.

Boxe — Le Roumain Lucian Bute doit rencontrer, dans la nuit de samedi à dimanche, à Washington, le Suédois Badou Jack, dans un match comptant pour le titre mondial WBC, soit la plus ancienne et la plus prestigieuse compétition de boxe. Bute (36 ans), ancien champion des super – moyens pendant quatre ans et demi, a 9 fois défendu avec succès son titre. S’il remporte le combat à Washington, Lucian Bute sera le seul Roumain détenteur de deux ceintures. LUMEN INFINITUM– Orthodox and Greek Catholic believers worldwide, including Romania, a country with a majority Orthodox population, are today celebrating Holy Saturday, the day before Easter and the last day of Holy Week in which Christians prepare for Easter. It is a unique orthodox annual ritual, during which the Greek Patriarch of Jerusalem comes out of the Holy Sepulchre with candles lit and shares the light, called “lumen infinitum”. A delegation of the Romanian Patriarchate will bring over the Holy Light from Jerusalem to Romania, by a special plane. Yesterday, on Good Friday, the Passion of Christ was remembered by the Orthodox believers. Hundreds of people in Targu Jiu, southern Romania, symbolically retraced “Via Dolorosa” or the Way of Suffering, marching in the longest such procession in Europe.

POLL – 68 % of the Romanians believe Easter should be celebrated simultaneously by the Orthodox and Catholic believers, a poll conducted by IRES shows. This option is endorsed mostly by respondents over 65, living in urban areas, as well as by Romanian nationals living in the central region of Transylvania and Banat, in the south east, regions which are home to many mixed Orthodox and Catholic families. 87% of the respondents say they will attend the Easter Mass. FLYOVER CLARIFICATIONS — The Romanian Foreign Ministry has announced that it is in permanent and direct contact with the Government in Chishinau, on the presence of a Romanian aircraft over Transdniester, a pro-Russian separatist region in the Republic of Moldova. The Romanian Foreign Ministry’s announcement comes shortly after the authorities in the separatist region claimed their airspace has been violated and activated their anti-aircraft warfare. The ministry makes clear the aircraft belongs to a private company based in Romania, which won a tender to conduct mapping and do a digital model of the relief of the Republic of Moldova. Complete information on this mission has been sent in due time to the authorities in Chishinau.

ROAMING CHARGES CUT– Mobile phone roaming charges are today cut within the European Union, in a last stage preceding their complete elimination in mid 2017. The maximum overcharge will be of five cents per minute for calls, two cents for texting, and five cents per MB for people downloading data – such as emails, pictures or social media.

Group B is made up of: Holland, Russia, Sweden, France, Argentina and South Korea. The Olympic handball tour will start on August 6, and the opening match will be played by Romania and Angola. Orthodox and Greek Catholic believers worldwide, including Romania, a mostly Orthodox country, are today marking Good Friday. This day, also known as Holy Friday, is the day when Christians commemorate the Crucifixion of Jesus Christ, the Son of God. From the early days of Christianity, Good Friday was observed as a day of sorrow, penance, and fasting. Special religious services are being held this evening. Hundreds of people will march in procession in Targu Jiu, in southern Romania, symbolically retracing “The Way of the Cross”.

The case concerning the fire that killed 64 young people in Bucharest’s Colectiv nightclub last autumn has reached the trial stage. Six people were sent to Court, including the three owners of the nightclub, under charges of manslaughter, bodily harm and breach of workplace safety and health regulations. Sixty-four people died and over 100 others were injured in the tragedy that shocked the entire country.

The unemployment rate in Romania continues to be on the decrease, being slightly smaller in March as against the previous month – 6.4% from 6.5%, according to the National Statistics Institute. Of the total number of people aged between 15 and 74, less than 600 thousands were still looking for a job in March. This figure is also smaller as compared with the same month of last year, when the number of unemployed stood at 613 thousand.

The Prime Minister’s Control Body has initiated checks at the National Opera House in Bucharest for a number of reasons, such as establishing the manner in which people were hired in the institution’s high level positions. Ninety-five years since its establishment, celebrated this very month, the National Opera House in Bucharest is the stage of a huge scandal and witnesses an unprecedented crisis, with three performances cancelled and the Culture Minister Vlad Alexandrescu stepping down as a consequence.

The Romanian, Ukrainian and Turkish border police plan to set up a joint patrol fleet in the Black Sea, aimed at ensuring stability in the region. Combating poaching and drug and weapons trafficking will be the patrol fleet’s main tasks. In Bucharest, Romanian Defense Minister Mihnea Motoc has recently announced that Romania will initiate procedures for the setting up of a NATO fleet in the Black Sea, for defense and determent purposes. Moscow has criticized this move, saying that it seriously undermines security and stability in this part of Europe forcing Russia to respond in order to maintain its security.

Este martes, en el torneo WTA de Rabat (Marruecos), que reparte 226.750 dólares en premios, la rumana Alexandra Dulgheru formando pareja con la francesa Pauline Parmentier fueron derrotadas por la pareja brasileña- española Laura Pigossi y Sara Sorribes Tormo, por 6-3 y 6-1.

La también rumana Andreea Mitu junto con la polaca Katarzyna Piter cayeron ante Michaela Honcova (Eslovaquia) y Anastasija Sevastova (Letonia), por 7-6 y 6-1.

Dulgheru fue derrotada este lunes por la rusa Ekaterina Makarova, 6-4, 6-2, y Mitu perdió este martes a manos de la neozelandesa Marina Erakovic 6-2 y 6-3.

Una de las favoritas, la rumana Irina Begu también fue derrotada este martes por la jugadora holandesa Richel Hogenkamp, 6-3, 6-4, en la primera ronda.

La Federación Rumana de Tenis ha confirmado este martes a través de su página web que el partido de Copa Davis entre los equipos masculinos de Rumanía y España tendrá lugar en la Sala Polivalenta de la ciudad rumana de Cluj-Napoca.

El enfrentamiento se disputará en la segunda ronda del Grupo I de la zona Europa/África, del 15 al 17 de julio.

Este año, el torneo de Bucarest BRD Năstase Tiriac Trophy fue ganado por el español Fernando Verdasco que este lunes venció en la final al francés Lucas Pouille por 6-3, 6-2.

Verdasco suma su séptimo título ATP de individual.

Los españoles son los que más ediciones han ganado en Bucarest con 9 trofeos (Albert Montanés, David Sánchez, David Ferrér, Juan Balcells, Alberto Martín, Francisco Clavet, Alberto Berasateguí, Guillermo García-López, Fernando Verdasco), seguidos por los franceses con 4 y los argentinos con 3.

La tenista rumana Sorana Cîrstea (26 años), la Nº131 mundial, ha recibido un wild card por parte de los organizadores del torneo Mutua Madrid Open (29 de abril – 8 de mayo), señaló EFE.

Daniel Natea aportó la tercera medalla de bronce para la delegación de Rumanía en los Campeonatos Europeos de judo celebrados en Kazan,Rusia, después de otras dos medallas obtenidas por Monica Ungureanu (48 kg) y Andreea Chitu (52 kg).

Así, Monica Ungureanu venció en el partido por el tercer puesto a la italiana Valentina Moscatt. Ungureanu inscribe en su palmarés la primera medalla en una competición de alto nivel..

En menos de 52 kilos subió al tercer escalón del podio Andreea Chiţu, al conseguir una victoria ante Evelyne Tschopp, de Suiza. Chiţu era campeona europea vigente en su categoría, debido al oro obtenido el año pasado en Bakú. En su palmarés también figuran dos medallas de plata en las últimas ediciones de la Copa mundial de judo.

Curling

El equipo masculino de Rumanía obtuvo este martes su primera victoria en los Campeonatos Europeos de curling 2016, el Grupo C,que tiene lugar en Ljubljana (capital de Eslovenia), 11-10 con Croacia. .

En 2013, en Copenhague, la selección tricolor se situó en el segundo puesto de este grupo valórico y fue promovido al Grupo B (segunda división), donde permanecieron durante 2 años, para retroceder el año pasado.

La selección masculina de waterpolo de Rumanía fue derrotada por Hungría por 15-7, este martes, en la piscina Olímpica de Oradea, en el Grupo A preliminar de la Liga Mundial.

El equipo masculino de sable de Rumanía obtuvo la medalla de bronce este miércoles en los Campeonatos Mundiales de esgrima para pruebas no olímpicas de Río de Janeiro. Rumanía derrotó al equipo de Irán por 45-35

Boxeo

El púgil rumano Lucian Bute (36 años) confía en la victoria en la pelea contra el sueco de origen gambiano Badou Jack, vigente campeón mundial WBC en la categoría supermedia. El enfrentamiento es programado para el sábado 30 de abril en una gala de boxeo profesional organizada en Washington.

Lucian Bute, de 36 años, cuenta con un palmarés de 32 victorias (25 por KO) y 3 derrotas. Perdió el título mundial IBF, en 2012, a manos del británico Carl Froch. En 2014 cedió el cinturón al canadiense Jean Pascal y luego fue derrotado por James DeGale, el pasado noviembre.

Este domingo, en el último día del torneo internacional Razel-Bec Paris Île-de-France, acogido en la Sala Pierre de Coubertin de París, la selección femenina de balonmano de Rumanía superó a la selección de Cuba por 36-23 (17-10).

La selección tricolor logró un excelente partido ante el conjunto cubano, en el que destacó la mejor goleadora del equipo rumano entrenado por el sueco Tomas Ryde, Ana-Maria Tănăsie, con 9 goles.

En la selección de Cuba, la mejor jugadora fue Rizo Gómez, que anotó 7 goles.

En su primer partido disputado en la competicion organizada por el Hexagono, Rumania derroto a rep checa . la seleccion rumana femenina de balonmano vencio al conjunto checo por 31-26 (16-13), este sabado en la capital francesa en un partido del torneo internacional Razel-Bec Paris Île-de-France.

Ada Nechita fue la mejor jugadora de las rumanas con 9 goles.

El viernes, en otro partido del torneo, Francia se impuso a Cuba por 37-18 (16-8).

Este miércoles tiene lugar el último partido de verificación de la selección de Rumanía antes de su debút en la Copa Mundial de Dinamarca contra Suecia, fuera de casa.

La selección de Rumanía se está preparando para participar en el Campeonato Mundial de balonmano que se celebrará en Dinamarca, entre el próximo 5 y el 20 de diciembre.

A pesar de no haber logrado recuperar su cinturón de campeón IBF, que tuvo entre octubre de 2007 y mayo de 2012, el rumano Bute se ha declarado contento con esta pelea en la que ha mostrado su mejor boxeo desde la derrota sufrida ante el británico Carl Froch.

Sommet — Le président roumain Klaus Iohannis participe au Sommet UE — Turquie, qui a lieu aujourd’hui à Bruxelles. A l’agenda de la réunion, la migration, vu qu’Ankara joue un rôle de poids dans le contrôle des flux migratoires vers l’UE, les négociations d’adhésion de la Turquie à l’UE et la libéralisation du régime des visas communautaires pour les ressortissants turcs. Lundi, le président roumain Klaus Iohannis sera présent, aux côtés d’autres chefs d’Etat et de gouvernement de plus de 145 pays, à l’ouverture, à Paris, de la COP21 – la 21e Conférence des parties de la Convention-cadre de l’ONU sur les changements climatiques. L’enjeu de la Conférence est de faire adopter un nouvel accord international en la matière qui soit juridiquement obligatoire et applicable à tous les Etats au 1er janvier 2021.

Cérémonie — La répétition générale du défilé militaire prévu le 1er décembre, à Bucarest, à l’occasion de la Fête nationale de la Roumanie, a eu lieu ce matin au centre-ville de la capitale. Plus de 2.600 militaires et 360 équipements techniques des ministères de la défense et de l’intérieur ainsi que des services spéciaux participeront à la cérémonie. S’y ajouteront des compagnies de la République de Moldova voisine et de Bulgarie, Etats-Unis, Pologne et Turquie — tous les quatre alliés de la Roumanie au sein de l’OTAN. Devenue Fête nationale après la révolution anti-communiste de 1989, le 1er décembre est la date à laquelle, après la fin de la Première guerre mondiale, en 1918, le processus de constitution de l’Etat national unitaire roumain s’est parachevé par l’entrée sous l’autorité de Bucarest de toutes les provinces à population roumaine majoritaire des empires multinationaux voisins.

Congrès — Les représentants des communautés roumaines du monde se réunissent, à partir d’aujourd’hui jusqu’au 2 décembre, dans les villes d’Alba Iulia et de Zlatna, au centre de la Roumanie, dans le cadre du 19e Congrès de la spiritualité roumaine. Créé par la Ligue culturelle pour l’unité des Roumains du monde, le Congrès a pour but de contribuer à une meilleure connaissance du spécifique roumain et au renforcement des liens entre les Roumains du monde et leur pays d’origine ; il agit également pour convaincre les ONG et les autorités roumaines d’accorder un soutien réel aux communautés roumaines de l’étranger. Des délégués d’une trentaine de pays ont annoncé leur présence au 19e Congrès de la spiritualité roumaine.

Musique — Le célèbre ténor espagnol José Carreras s’est vu conférer, samedi, le titre de Docteur Honoris Causa de l’Académie de musique « George Dima » de Cluj, nord-ouest de la Roumanie, pour sa contribution à la vie musicale mondiale. Aujourd’hui, José Carreras donne un concert à Cluj, en compagnie de l’Orchestre de la Philharmonie d’Etat Transilvania, dans le cadre de sa tournée mondiale « Une vie en musique ». Ce soir, à l’Athénée roumain de Bucarest, la soprano Angela Gheorghiu donne un concert extraordinaire, dont la recette sera versée au traitement des blessés dans l’incendie de la discothèque bucarestoise « Colectiv ».

Boxe — Le boxeur roumano-canadien Lucian Bute s’est incliné devant le Britannique James DeGale, dans un match pour le titre mondial IBF des super-welters. Hier soir, à Québec, au bout de 12 rounds, tous les arbitres ont attribué la victoire au Britannique. Lucian Bute avait détenu ce titre pendant 5 ans, avant de le perdre en faveur d’un autre Britannique, Carl Froch, en 2012.

Government – The Romanian prime minister Dacian Ciolos and his cabinet today held an informal meeting to discuss the budget for 2016 and the absorption of European funds. This week, the minister for European funds Aura Raducu said Romania aims to increase the absorption rate of European funds to 70% by the end of the year. Also, Ciolos said the 10% rise in public sector salaries starting on December 1st would not bring about cuts in other areas, but that the government is making efforts to increase the absorption of European funds.

Diaspora – Representatives of the Romanian communities abroad meet in Alba Iulia and Zlatna in central Romania for the 19th Congress of Romanian Spirituality between the 29th of November and the 2nd of December. The congress was established by the Cultural League for the Union of Romanians Everywhere and aims to promote Romanian culture, strengthen the link between the Romanians living abroad and Romania and convince Romanians NGOs and authorities to give real support to Romanian communities abroad. Representatives from 30 different countries and regions as well as from Romania will attend this years congress.

Floods – Southern Romania is affected by floods caused by heavy rain. The emergency personnel have intervened to remove water from peoples homes and gardens and the fallen trees blocking the roads. More than 2,600 homes were without power. A flood warning has been issued for rivers in one county in south-eastern Romania in particular and for 20 other counties. Rain and snow warnings are also in place across the country. The interior minister Petre Toba said 40,000 personnel and 7,300 pieces of equipment are on stand-by ready to help if necessary. Prime minister Dacian Ciolos has ordered a risk assessment for the regions most affected by extreme weather events.

Christmas – A Christmas market opened in the centre of Bucharest on Friday night. Its 60 stalls sell everything from food to jewellery and Christmas ornaments. The market is decorated with over 10,000 bulbs, while its 15 metre high Christmas tree is illuminated by 20,000 bulbs. Concerts and performances will also be held every day at the market. A humanitarian campaign is also being run, encouraging people to donate toys and books for children in difficulty.

Boxing – The Romanian-Canadian boxer Lucian Bute says he is ready to face the British champion James DeGale in Quebec today. Butes goal is to win the IBF super middleweight belt won by DeGale this spring after beating the American boxer Andre Dirrell. Lucian Bute held the IBF super middleweight title for almost five years before losing to the British challenger Carl Froch in 2012.
