    DEFENCE Romania and Norway continue to stand by Ukraine at these critical times, the defence minister Angel Tîlvăr said on Friday, after a meeting in Bucharest with his Norwegian counterpart, Bjorn Arild Gram. Minister Tîlvăr highlighted the successful cooperation between the two countries’ air forces under a programme in which the Romanian government awarded to Norway a contract for the procurement of 32 F-16 aircraft with initial logistic support, and for complementary goods and services from the US. A total of 12 airplanes have been received so far, after less than a week ago 3 F-16 Fighting Falcon multi-role aircraft arrived in Romania. The entire lot is expected to be received by the end of 2025.

     

    FLOODS A person on the list of Romanian nationals missing following the devastating floods in Spain has been found dead, the Romanian foreign ministry announced on Friday. The foreign ministry via the Romanian consular office in Castellon de la Plana and the Romanian Embassy in Madrid continues to check information on an estimated 15 Romanian nationals on the list of missing persons. The region of Valencia, in the south-east of Spain, has been hit by unprecedented floods. At least 205 people died in Spain following the rainfalls and floods, according to updates provided by the Spanish authorities. Scores of people are still missing. Spain declared 3 days of national mourning.

     

    ELECTIONS The election campaign for the parliamentary elections of December 1st officially got under way on Friday. Romanian voters will elect 466 MPs, 330 in the Chamber of Deputies and 136 in the Senate. The election campaign will come to an end on 30th November. Romanian citizens residing abroad will be able to cast their ballots either through postal voting or in person at one of the polling stations set up abroad. The Romanian foreign ministry submitted to the Permanent Electoral Authority its proposals for the 950 polling stations to be set up abroad for the upcoming presidential and parliamentary elections. The election campaign for the presidential elections began a week ago. The first round will take place on 24th November, and the second round on 8th December. In June, Romania also saw European and local elections.

     

    ANNIVERSARY Radio Romania Friday celebrated 96 years of uninterrupted service. With over 3 million listeners a day, the public radio station must reinvent itself and make itself more attractive to younger audiences, said the director general of the Romanian Radio Broadcasting Corporation, Răzvan-Ioan Dincă. Radio Romania broadcast its first programme at 5 pm on 1st November 1928. In recognition of its decisive role in the country’s history, in December 2019 Parliament declared 1st November National Radio Day in Romania. To mark this occasion, the Radio Concert Hall Friday night hosted an anniversary concert conducted by the celebrated Romanian conductor Cristian Mandeal.

     

    TRADE The Romanian minister of the economy, entrepreneurship and tourism, Ştefan-Radu Oprea, and the trade minister of Turkey, Omer Bolat, Friday chaired the second session of the Romanian-Turkish Economic and Trade Committee (JETCO). The Romanian official said there is evident progress in terms of the value of bilateral trade, while Omer Bolat said bilateral economic relations have grown in all areas, from trade to investments, tourism, transport and services. He also appreciated Romania’s support for his country within the EU, in respect of the modernisation of the customs union. The Romanian-Turkish JETCO establishment declaration was signed by the two economy ministers on the sidelines of the Turkish president Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s visit to Romania on April 1, 2015.

     

    JOURNALISTS In most cases in which journalists get killed around the world, their killers go unpunished, said UNESCO in a report on International Day to End Impunity for Crimes against Journalists, which is marked every year on 2nd November. 85% of all crimes against journalists recorded by UNESCO in 2006 are still not solved, the report also writes. Over the two years covered by the UNESCO report, namely 2022 and 2023, 162 journalists were killed, almost a half of them in countries with ongoing armed conflicts. In 2022, Mexico reported the largest number of journalists killed, 19, followed by Ukraine, with 11 journalists killed. In 2023, Palestine reported the largest number of journalists killed, namely 24. (AMP)

    Radio Romania 96

    Radio Romania has celebrated 96 years since it first entered the listeners houses from Romania and abroad. On November 1 1928 the Romanians were able to listen to the first broadcast of the public service of the Radiotelephonic Company, today known as the Romanian Radio Broadcasting Corporation and also as Radio Romania. In the same year 1928, conductor and song-writer Mihail Jora set up the Radio Orchestra, today known as the National Radio Orchestra, which has celebrated the same anniversary. According to its CEO, Razvan Ioan Dinca, Radio Romania channels are presently boasting over 3 million daily listeners. He also says that after so many years of activity on the domestic and international arena, this radio station has to reinvent itself and become more attractive for the younger generation, very well anchored in the online world.

    Răzvan-Ioan Dincă:” We have to think on how to reinvent the radio so that it may reach out to the young people as well. And an essential step in my opinion is to turn the on-air content into digital, which I think we have achieved this year by completing all Radio Romania webpages, including the regional ones. We are going to reintegrate all of them into one portal, which has to comprise all the news that we do on-air. I believe this will make the station more attractive to a younger audience.”

    Dincă has praised the activity of Radio Romania Music and Radio Romania Culture, two channels broadcasting relevant cultural content, which enjoy solid audience rating, but also the covering of major sporting events, which took place this year.

    At the same time he has given assurances that in the context of the presidential and parliamentary election due later this year, Radio Romania will continue to be a platform of equidistant expression for the candidates and urged them to convey relevant messages for the listeners.

    Răzvan-Ioan Dincă: “The message I convey to those participating as candidates is a serious message on one hand, when I say that we are equidistant and we have a platform, which disseminates their messages towards three million-three million and a half listeners. On the other hand in a less serious note, I would like to say that whenever we measure audience rating during elections, we see that this is going down a little bit. So, we are politely asking those who are running in the parliamentary and presidential election to make the content of their promotional clips – which, under the law we must broadcast and allot certain slots in our programmes – relevant, to share with us interesting things, things that are going to raise the audience rating.”

    As a token of appreciation for the crucial role the public station has had in the history of Romania, in December 2019 the Romanian Parliament declared November 1 as the National Radio Day.

    The Management Board of the Romanian Radio Broadcasting Corporation issued a unanimously adopted stand regarding the draft law on the cancellation of the radio and TV license fee:



    As regards the draft law on the cancellation of several charges and on amending and completing several laws, which also provides for amending articles 40 and 41 of Law no. 41/1994 on the organization and functioning of the Romanian Radio Broadcasting Corporation and the Romanian Television, republished, with subsequent amendments and additions, in the sense of eliminating the license fee for the public radio service, we announce that the Romanian Radio Broadcasting Corporation DOES NOT support the passing of this draft law for the following reasons:



    The draft law on the cancellation of several charges and on amending and completing several laws may have the desired social impact if and only if each case is analyzed from the point of view of its medium and long term social consequences.



    As results from the statement of reasons of the draft law, the elimination of the more than 100 charges is meant to “reduce the time spent queuing at various desks for the payment of dues and to streamline the activity of public institutions in order to simplify and speed up internal processes”.



    It can be easily noticed that the cancellation of the radio and TV license fee, despite the fact that it does not observe the purpose for which the draft law was initiated, radically affects the autonomous and independent existence of the public media services.



    Before giving our stand on the adequacy of this measure, we must highlight that the role of the Romanian Radio Broadcasting Corporation as a public service of national interest, as established by law, must be regarded both from the prospect of its nature as a public service and from the point of view of the audiences contribution to the existence of this service.



    The license fee for the public radio service is the main source of funding for the Romanian Radio Broadcasting Corporation and it has been paid by the citizens of Romania since the public service was set up in 1928, no matter the political regime.



    The amount of this fee (2.5 lei per household/ per month) is the lowest in Europe – around 7 Euros per year, being 4 up to 5 times smaller than in Serbia, Poland, Greece, Slovakia and 8 times smaller than in the Czech Republic.



    Most of the public media services in Europe are funded through the payment of fees/dues by citizens, and in those countries where such fees do not exist, editorial independence is affected. Some of the countries that have understood that this form of funding helps provide correct and fair information to citizens on issues of public interest are: Great Britain, Germany, Norway, Denmark, Sweden, Switzerland, Austria, Italy, Belgium, Poland, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Greece, Portugal, etc.



    In 2015, the revenues obtained from the payment of the license fee for the public radio service stood at 207 million lei, accounting for 48% of the Corporations total revenues. The other own revenues (advertisement, sponsorships, concerts, the Gaudemus book fair, services, etc.) amounted to almost 24 million lei, accounting for almost 6% of the total revenues. The remaining revenues of 196 million lei represented allocations from the state budget meant for the payment of the radio signal transmission services and for the functioning of the Music Ensembles Department, of Radio Romania International and of Radio Romania Chişinău.



    Given the above, in the event of canceling the license fee for the public radio service, the supplementary financial effort sustained from the state budget to fund the Romanian Radio Broadcasting Corporation (SRR) would amount to at least 210 million lei per year, not to mention the capital expenditure needed for funding the Corporations investments, which are estimated at almost 15 million lei per year.



    One cannot ignore the fact that the radio license fee is meant to fund the activity of the Public Radio as an autonomous, editorially independent public service of national interest. Therefore, we cannot agree with the statement of reasons stipulated in the draft law related to the fact that the revenues will be provided from the state budget in the spirit of transparency and efficiency.



    The cancellation of the radio and TV license fee is not in accordance with Directive 2010/13/EU of the European Parliament and of the Council of 10 March 2010, which states that “Audiovisual media services are as much cultural services as they are economic services. Their growing importance for societies, democracy – in particular by ensuring freedom of information, diversity of opinion and media pluralism – education and culture justifies the application of specific rules to these services.”



    In this context we consider that the two reasons mentioned earlier are not enough for the cancellation of this license fee, given that in the case of the Public Radio they are not relevant, because several key issues have been omitted, namely:


    – there is no mention as to the legal status of the Romanian Radio Broadcasting Corporation, which is already rather unclear, in the context in which funding will be provided from the budget;


    – there is no estimation of the amounts of money the Romanian Government intends to allot under the budget law so as to cover the current expenses SRR will incur in order to remain on the media market to provide services for its audience, not to mention the continuous need for development;


    • – what is the editorial impact of such a financial subordination and to what extent we can further speak about editorial independence in such conditions.


    Such a substantial change in the case of SRR and the Romanian Television (SRTv) has major consequences on the concept of the law as a whole, entailing a complete change of paradigm, which makes us consider insufficient the correction brought only to art. 40 and 41 of Law No. 41/1994, republished, with subsequent amendments and additions.


    Attention should also be paid to the fact that the mass media remain an instrument of political influence, and that they risk losing their capacity to further accomplish their public mission of educator, culture and information provider while reflecting a breadth and diversity of opinion, which is so much needed on the audiovisual market, given that private media groups are mainly profit-driven.



    The Romanian Radio Broadcasting Corporation should remain editorially and financially independent, irrespective of the governing parties, the radio license fee being an essential link between the paying citizens and the public radio service provided to them and on their behalf.



    The public radios being funded from the state budget turns it into a government radio station, the Romanian Radio Broadcasting Corporation thus losing its autonomy and independence, as well as its credibility in accomplishing its public mission to the citizens benefit.



    Amending art. 40 and 41 of Law No.41/1994, republished with later subsequent amendments and additions, serves exclusively the purpose of canceling several charges, but poses many legal, organizational, economic and social problems, being insufficient for SRR and SRTv to function continuously and have a clear legal status.



    According to the provisions of art.1, art.2 and art.8 of Law No. 41/1994, republished, the Romanian Radio Broadcasting Corporation is an autonomous, editorially independent public service of national interest, which carries out its activity under the control of Parliament, its autonomy and editorial independence being guaranteed by law and protected from any interference by public authority, as well as from the influence of any parties, social and political groups, trade unions, trade and economic bodies and pressure groups.



    By using the phrase “autonomous entity”, the lawmaker obviously intended to regulate the independent and autonomous management of the Romanian Radio Broadcasting Corporation, in accordance with the provisions of art. 31, para (5) of the Constitution, with consequences on the editorial and economic functioning of the radio broadcaster, according to its own norms, allowing it to comply with its obligation to ensure, throughout its entire activity, “pluralism, free expression of ideas and opinions, free communication of information, as well as correct information for the public.”



    The autonomy and editorial independence of the Romanian Radio Broadcasting Corporation are not limited to the editorial activity alone, they also cover other organizational, financial and managerial aspects.



    That is why the lawmaker stipulated under art. 40 of Law No. 41/1994 that the own revenues of the Romanian Radio Broadcasting Corporation mainly come from the collection of the radio license fee, which was established to guarantee the Romanian Radio Broadcasting Corporations autonomous activity from all points of view, just as the Constitutional Court underlined every time it ruled on the constitutionality of the radio and TV license fee.



    To that end, under Decision No.159/2004 by the Constitutional Court, it becomes clear that “The autonomy of these services helps provide correct information to people on issues of public interest and ensures an organized framework for the freedom of opinion, the freedom to receive and communicate information or ideas, without interference by public authority.”



    Art. 40 of Law No.41/1994 is part of chapter IV -“Financial activity” which contains organizational rules on the assets and financial resources of the public radio and television services, their administration and management. Given that the provisions of art.31 para (5) of the Constitution guarantee the autonomy of the aforementioned services, it is imperative that their organization be thus regulated by an organic law, so as to ensure their functional autonomy.



    Consequently, it is only by maintaining the provisions of the current law which regulates the payment of a license fee for the public radio and television broadcasting services that their financial autonomy can be ensured, as a prerequisite for their autonomous organization.



    In conclusion, we do not agree with the draft law on the elimination of the radio license fee. Once applied, the measure will soon be followed by a decrease in the quality of the editorial act, to the detriment of the Romanian citizens, will level down the activity of the two public media institutions, whose very existence will be threatened, in the name of transparency and efficiency at a purely declarative level.



    It is common knowledge that “he who pays the piper calls the tune”! Please, do not cut off the sole link between the public radio and its audience., considers the Management Board of Radio Romania.

    February 13 – World Radio Day, was proclaimed by UNESCO (United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization) in November 2011 to highlight the importance of radio as a means of communication and to celebrate its contribution to promoting dialogue, tolerance and peace. Radio plays a significant role in the lives of people around the world, being a source of information, entertainment and education. It is a means of communication that can reach the most remote areas and can influence peoples lives in a positive way. Since its creation, Radio has fascinated the world and had immediate social, economic, military and cultural effects. Today, it is the way of information that reaches the widest audience worldwide and in the shortest possible time. And World Radio Day emphasizes the importance of freedom of expression and of access to information for all people, regardless of location or social condition.



    In 2024, World Radio Day marks its centenary and the years theme is Radio: A century informing, entertaining and educating. In the anniversary message, UNESCO writes that “World Radio Day 2024 marks 100 years of radio, a period in which it has become the medium that is arguably closest to human hearts and minds, providing news, entertainment and education in all corners of the world.” Being 100 years old, radio is presented by UNESCO as an essential part of the lives of billions of people around the world. Every year, on this day, events and activities are organized around the world to highlight the crucial role of radio in modern society and to promote its fundamental values ​​of information, education and human connection. And the stations of the Romanian Radio Broadcasting Corporation present, on this occasion, interviews with journalists, media experts, teachers, personalities and listeners opinions. Radio Romanias programs include, this year as well, debates about the future of radio and recordings of the European Broadcasting Union, and bring internationally renowned Romanian musicians to the fore.



    Moreover, the UNESCO declaration dedicated to World Radio Day, entitled “Radio, the trusted guide in a changing world” can be found on the websites of all the stations of the Romanian Radio Broadcasting Corporation, including that of Radio Romania International. We are honored to celebrate the Radio for everything it means every day: provider of news, music, education, entertainment, source of inspiration and stimulator of imagination, Radio Romania announces.     Nel 2011, l’UNESCO ha proclamato il 13 febbraio come World Radio Day, per celebrare questo mezzo di comunicazione e rafforzare la cooperazione internazionale tra le varie emittenti. E’ stato scelto il 13 febbraio perchè in quel giorno del 1946 nasceva la radio delle Nazioni Unite. La Radio: un secolo di informazione, intrattenimento ed educazione è il tema scelto nel 2024. Un’edizione che punta, quindi, sul notevole passato della radio, il presente rilevante e la promessa di un futuro dinamico, come indica l’UNESCO.

    Sul sito dell’organizzazione si legge che l’articolo 19 della Dichiarazione Universale dei Diritti Umani recita: Ogni individuo ha diritto alla libertà di opinione e di espressione; questo diritto include la libertà di avere opinioni senza interferenze e di cercare, ricevere e condividere informazioni e idee attraverso qualsiasi media, a prescindere dalle frontiere.

    La Giornata Mondiale della Radio 2024 segna 100 anni di radiofonia, un periodo in cui è diventata il mezzo probabilmente più vicino ai cuori e alle menti umane, fornendo notizie, intrattenimento ed educazione in tutti gli angoli del mondo. Soddisfa la nostra esigenza di essere informati sia nelle decisioni quotidiane che nei momenti di emergenza e di crisi. Nel corso dell’ultimo secolo, la radio si è rivelata un mezzo cruciale per il mantenimento della libertà di opinione e di espressione, spesso essendo l’unico ancora attivo e funzionante in tempi di crisi, precisa l’UNESCO.

    Gli studi hanno ripetutamente dimostrato che la radio gode della massima fiducia e la maggior parte dei cittadini la valuta al di sopra della televisione, di Internet, dei social network o della stampa scritta. La radio è un trionfo dell’accessibilità, dell’immediatezza e dell’intimità, ed esiste un forte interesse pubblico per proteggere la radio e il nostro accesso a questo mezzo. Riteniamo che rimanere facilmente accessibile a tutte le persone, in ogni luogo, indipendentemente da come ricevono la radio, utilizzando le reti di trasmissione terrestre (sia analogiche che digitali) – su cui ancora fa affidamento la maggior parte degli ascoltatori a livello globale – e favorire l’accesso online alla radio, sia altrettanto democratico e aperto.

    Le automobili rappresentano un interessamento particolare, essendo costantemente tra i luoghi più popolari per l’ascolto della radio. Che si tratti di trasmissione terrestre o Internet, la radio in auto non deve essere solo facile da trovare, anzi deve essere impossibile da mancare. L’informazione è un bene pubblico e una risorsa condivisa per tutta l’umanità. La radio ha il suo posto nella trasformazione digitale dell’ecosistema dell’informazione, integrando Internet e le piattaforme digitali. L’evoluzione delle tecnologie di comunicazione dovrebbe consolidare il diritto delle persone a ricevere informazioni e idee attraverso qualsiasi media, invece di regredirlo.

    Chiediamo ai governi, agli organismi di regolamentazione, alle industrie tecnologiche e automobilistiche e a tutti i membri della comunità radiofonica globale di mettere in atto misure di salvaguardia per garantire che la radio continui a prosperare; tutelare il libero e illimitato accesso della radio alla pluralità delle opinioni e all’informazione attendibile; consentire alla radio di continuare ad aiutare le comunità e i parlanti di lingue minoritarie a ricevere informazioni e a partecipare ai processi democratici; e garantire che la radio rimanga disponibile a tutte le persone indipendentemente dai loro mezzi finanziari o dalle condizioni personali, conclude l’UNESCO.

    European Parliament election: How to convince young people to vote?


    Radio Romania, the public service, won an editorial project, “YOU+EU 2024 and beyond”, co-financed by the European Parliament, providing information on the upcoming European elections scheduled for June 6-9, 2024.



    Under this project, Radio Romania produces podcasts, video animations and infographics on European topics, as well as 12 debates, in Romania, and two debates in Romanian and English, in Brussels.

    The second debate in English was held in Brussels, on January 23, 2024, at the headquarters of the European Parliament, themed “What to expect from the European elections? How to convince the young people to vote?”.



    The debate was moderated by Vlad Palcu, Editor, Radio Romania International, and involved the participation of MEPs Alex Agius Saliba, Malta, Vice-Chair of the Group of the Progressive Alliance of Socialists and Democrats in the European Parliament, Dragoş Pîslaru, Romania, Renew Europe Group, Chair of the Committee on Employment and Social Affairs, Marian-Jean Marinescu, Romania, Group of the European Peoples Party (Christian Democrats), and Olivia Nouailhetas-Baneth, Associate Director at Verian Group, former Kantar Media.

    Ce aşteptaţi de la viitoarele alegeri europene?

    Radio România, serviciul public, a câştigat un proiect editorial cofinanţat de Parlamentul European, de informare privind viitoarele alegeri europene din 6-9 iunie 2024, “YOU+EU 2024 and beyond”.



    În cadrul acestui proiect, Radio România realizează podcasturi, animaţii video şi infografice, 12 dezbateri în România, ca şi două dezbateri în limbila română şi engleză, la Bruxelles, pe teme europene.



    A doua dezbatere de la Bruxelles s-a desfăşurat pe 23 ianuarie 2024 la sediul Parlamentului European şi a avut tema “Ce aşteptaţi de la viitoarele alegeri europene? Cum pot fi determinaţi tinerii să meargă la vot?“.

    Moderator a fost Bogdan Isopescu, corespondentul Radio România la Bruxelles, iar participanţii la dezbatere au fost eurodeputaţii Siegfried Mureşan, PNL, Grupul Partidului Popular European (Creștin Democrat), Președintele Delegației la Comisia parlamentară de asociere UE-Moldova, Ramona Strugariu, REPER, Grupul Renew Europe, Vicepreședintă a Delegației la Comisia parlamentară de asociere UE-Moldova, Vincze Loránt, UDMR, Grupul Partidului Popular European (Creștin Democrat), Vicepreședinte al Comisiei pentru afaceri constituționale, Nicolae Ştefănuţă, independent, Vicepreședinte al Grupului Verzilor/Alianța Liberă Europeană, şi Laurenţiu Plosceanu, Vicepreşedinte pentru Comunicare al Comitetului Economic şi Social European. Nu a mai putut participa, din motive de agendă, un reprezentant al Grupul Alianţei Progresiste a Socialiştilor şi Democraţilor.

    Radio România 95. Spectacole de colecție

    Teatrul Național Radiofonic a lansat, la www.eteatru.ro,
    o nouă colecţie de spectacole sonore, alcătuită cu prilejul aniversării, la 1
    noiembrie 2023, a 95 de ani de Radio România. Colecția include cele mai bune
    montări radiofonice din toate timpurile, realizate după texte importante ale
    dramaturgiei naţionale şi universale. Spectacolele poartă semnături regizorale
    remarcabile şi sunt interpretate de importanți actori români, care au colaborat
    permanent cu Teatrul Naţional Radiofonic.

    Radio România 95. Spectacole de colecție adună, pe site-ul www.eteatru.ro, titluri reprezentative
    din 8 decenii de radiofonie teatrală, începând cu anii ’50 ai secolului trecut.
    Cel mai vechi spectacol păstrat pe bandă de magnetofon a fost realizat în 1951:
    Hagi Tudose de Barbu Ştefănescu Delavrancea, în regia lui Ion Şahighian, cu
    Nicolae Bălţăţeanu în rolul titular.

    Naţional Radiofonic. Această piesă se află în noua colecție pe
    care o oferim ascultătorilor de teatru radiofonic. Așa cum am mai spus,
    spectacolele sunt grupate cronologic, aparținând celor opt decenii de teatru
    radiofonic.

    Începem cu anii 50, ani în care actori importanți ai teatrului
    românesc s-au aflat la microfonul radioului și au realizat interpretări
    remarcabile. Unul dintre actorii remarcabili de atunci a fost Radu Beligan,
    care a a avut o strânsă legătură cu teatrul radiofonic până la sfârșitul vieții
    sale. Îmi amintesc că avea 92
    de ani când încă mai venea în studiourile Teatrului Radiofonic pentru a
    interpreta roluri în spectacolele produse de noi. De altfel, toată lumea știe că
    Radu Beligan a fost un veteran al scenei noastre. Și pentru că vorbim de acele
    generații extraordinare care și-au pus amprenta asupra culturii noastre, l-aș
    menționa și pe Sică Alexandrescu, un regizor de marcă al acelor ani, anii 50,
    care împreună cu actori ca Alexandru Giugaru, Grigore Vasiliu Birlic, Evira
    Godeanu și mulți alții a dat naștere unor spectacole memorabile.

    Colecția
    continua cu anii 60 și 70, când apar generații formidabile de actori. Sunt și
    anii în care marele regizor Liviu Ciulei a montat pe scenă spectacole de
    referință, preluate apoi de teatrul radiofonic. Mă gândesc, de exemplu, la Cum
    vă place de William Shakespeare, un spectacol extraordinar al anilor 60,
    care beneficiază de adaptarea radiofonică a lui Mihai Zira, un mare regizor de
    teatru radiofonic. Este un spectacol din distribuția căruia fac parte, printre
    alții, Victor Rebengiuc și Clody Bertola. Interesant este că în acest
    spectacol, Cum vă place, există un monolog al lui Jacques
    Melancolicul interpretat de însuși Liviu Ciulei, care a jucat în piesa
    respectivă. Este o colecție cu spectacole care merită ascultate pentru că au o valoare
    teatrală extraordinară.


    O altă colecție lansată recent de Teatrul Național
    Radiofonic este Radio România 95. 95 de ani de Radio – 95 de ani de
    literatură. Adaptări radiofonice din literatura lumii. Noua colecție de
    spectacole radiofonice, lansată la Târgul de Carte Gaudeamus, cuprinde
    transpuneri sonore ale unor titluri celebre din literatura națională și
    universală (teatru și proză dramatizată radiofonic). Montările radiofonice,
    realizate după cărți românești și străine apărute în ultimii 95 de ani sunt
    grupate în link-uri, dedicate anilor ’30, ’40, ’50.

    Attila Vizauer, redactor-şef al Teatrului Naţional Radiofonic: Ne-am propus să fim prezenți în spațiul extraordinar al
    Târgului Gaudeamus cu o colecție de teatru radiofonic dedicată cărților, capodoperelor
    literare realizate de-a lungul anilor. Cine este interesat să asculte
    versiunile radiofonice ale marilor creații literare românești, dar și
    universale poate accesa această colecție care a fost lansată odată cu
    deschiderea Târgului de Carte Gaudeamus: Radio România 95. 95 de ani de
    Radio – 95 de ani de literatură. Adaptări radiofonice din literatura lumii.
    Dacă sunteți interesați să descoperiți o versiune radiofonică a celebrului
    roman Madame Bovary de Gustave Flaubert o puteți găsi pe     www.eteatru.ro. În aceeași colecție se găsesc adaptări ale operelor lui
    Lucian Blaga sau Camil Petrescu, ca să mă rezum la câteva exemple. Sunt spectacole
    pe care teatrul radiofonic le poate oferi pentru că are o fonotecă foarte
    bogată și deține o selecție de titluri importante, capodopere ale literaturii românești
    și universale.

    Ziua Culturii Naţionale, la Radio România

    Pe 15 ianuarie, toate posturile Societăţii Române de Radiodifuziune celebrează cultura, în toate formele ei.

    Radio România Cultural transmite în direct Gala Tinerilor Scriitori / Cartea de Poezie a anului 2023, eveniment care marchează cea de-a paisprezecea ediție a Zilei Culturii Naționale, luni, 15 ianuarie 2024, de la ora 16:00, în Sala Perpessicius a Muzeului Național al Literaturii Române din București. Radio România Cultural este coproducător al Galei încă de la prima ediție.

    Radio România Muzical dedică întreaga zi de 15 ianuarie Culturii Naționale. Interpretul zilei este celebrul dirijor Sergiu Celibidache. Baritonul Nicolae Herlea, dirijorul George Georgescu, pianistul Daniel Ciobanu, violonistul Florin Iliescu, violistul Răzvan Popovici, pianista Aurelia Vișovan, violoncelistul Andrei Ioniță și pianistul Cătălin Șerban sunt doar câţiva dintre artiştii pe care îi puteţi asculta luni 15 ianuarie, la Radio România Muzical. Iar de la ora 23:30, în cadrul festivalului Săptămâna Internațională a Muzicii Noi 2023, se difuzează înregistrarea operei E vina ta! de Simona Strungaru, actuala dirijoare a Big Bandului Radio.

    Radio România Actualități îl are ca invitat special al emisiunii Prietenii de la Radio pe Radu Vancu, câştigătorul celei de-a 14-a ediţii a Cărţii de poezie a anului (2023). Pe parcursul întregii zile, RRA va transmite ştiri, relatări, corespondenţe, reportaje de la evenimentele dedicate Zilei Culturii Naţionale din ţară şi de peste hotare.

    Studiourile teritoriale ale Societăţii Române de Radiodifuziune, Antena Satelor, Radio România Internaţional, Redacţia Minorităţi, Radio 3Net au pregătit programe speciale dedicate sărbătorii culturii naţionale.

    Şi tot pe 15 ianuarie, Agenţia de presă Rador Radio România lansează un documentar extins despre importanţa Zilei Culturii Naţionale.

    The European Parliament: Preliminary End of Term Review

    Radio Romania, the public service, won an editorial project, “YOU+EU 2024 and beyond”, co-financed by the European Parliament, providing information on the upcoming European elections scheduled for June 6-9, 2024.



    Under this project, Radio Romania produces podcasts, video animations and infographics on European topics, as well as 12 debates, in Romania, and two debates in Romanian and English, in Brussels.



    The first debate in English was held in Brussels, on November 28, 2023, at the headquarters of the European Parliament, themed “The European Parliament: Preliminary End of Term Review”.



    The debate was moderated by Diana Petrescu, deputy chief editor, Radio Romania International, and involved the participation of MEPs Mercedes Bresso, Partito Democratico, Italy, Vice-President of the Commission for Development, and Nicolae Ştefănuţă, Independent, Green Group/European Free Alliance, member of the Committee on Budgets, as well as of the former European Commissioner for Internal Market, Industry, Entrepreneurship and SMEs, Elżbieta Bieńkowska, Poland, and Olivia Serra Calvo, President of the European Student Think Tank.

    Radio România, serviciul public, a câştigat un proiect editorial cofinanţat de Parlamentul European, de informare privind viitoarele alegeri europene din 6-9 iunie 2024, “YOU+EU 2024 and beyond”.



    În cadrul acestui proiect, Radio România realizează podcasturi, animaţii video şi infografice, 12 dezbateri în România, ca şi două dezbateri în limbila română şi engleză, la Bruxelles, pe teme europene.



    Prima dezbatere de la Bruxelles s-a desfăşurat pe 28 noiembrie 2023 la sediul Parlamentului European şi a avut tema “Parlamentul European: încercare de bilanţ“.



    Moderator a fost Bogdan Isopescu, corespondentul Radio România la Bruxelles, iar participanţii la dezbatere au fost eurodeputaţii Dragoş Pîslaru, REPER, Grupul Renew Europe, Președinte al Comisiei pentru ocuparea forței de muncă și afaceri sociale, Marian-Jean Marinescu, PNL, Grupul Partidului Popular European (Creștin Democrat), Vicepreședinte al Comisiei pentru mediu, sănătate publică și siguranță alimentară, Iuliu Winkler, UDMR, Grupul Partidului Popular European (Creștin Democrat), Vicepreședinte al Comisiei pentru comerț internațional, şi Vlad Botoş, USR, Grupul Renew Europe, Vicepreședinte al Comisiei pentru dezvoltare regională.



    Nu au putut participa, din motive de agendă, eurodeputaţi din Grupul Alianţei Progresiste a Socialiştilor şi Democraţilor.

    Premii UZPR pentru Radio România

    Uniunea Ziariștilor Profesioniști din România a premiat excelenţa în jurnalism, luni 27 noiembrie, în cadrul Galei Premiilor UZPR, ediția 2023 — Împreună pentru pace.


    Premiul pentru întreaga activitate a fost acordat Ruxandrei Săraru, realizator al emisiunii Oameni care mişcă România la Radio România Actualităţi şi membru în Consiliul de Administraţie al Societăţii Române de Radiodifuziune.



    Cred că [Ruxandra] este prietena tuturor celor prezenți aici. Este omul-suflet, omul care sare întotdeauna în ajutorul celor de lângă ea. Este, poate, cea mai generoasă persoană pe care am întâlnit-o noi, cea care mereu și-a pus timpul, cunoștințele, relațiile, energia și efortul în slujba celor de lângă ea. Mulți jurnaliști au beneficiat de sprijinul ei atunci când au trecut prin momente grele și întotdeauna a fost alături de breaslă. Ruxandra Săraru este un om care a mișcat România, a mișcat România în ultimii 35 de ani și va continua să miște România. Este un jurnalist care crede în arta dialogului, partea dialogului purtată cu eleganță. Nu este un jurnalist agresiv pentru că are experiență. Ruxandra Săraru, aplauze pentru tot ceea ce ai făcut pentru România”, a spus Maria Ţoghină, fost președinte director general al SRR.



    Un alt premiu al Uniunii Ziariștilor Profesioniști din România pentru întreaga activitate i-a fost acordat Sofiei Șincan, care a creat postul 3 al Societății Române de Radiodifuziune.


    Unul dintre profesorii mei m-a învățat că, dacă vreau să reușesc, trebuie să fiu mai bună decât toți ceilalți din jurul meu. Așa s-a întâmplat și cu echipa de tineret de la Programul 3, care a fost foarte sever selectată, mergând prin școli, licee, facultăți și căutând acei oameni care iubesc radioul, care-l ascultă și care se visează reporter și redactor la radio. Au venit spre noi tot felul de copii minunați fără niciun fel de pretenție, numai cu dorința de a fi auziți, de a fi ascultați. Și pentru că suntem în apropierea sărbătorilor, sper că Moș Crăciun o să aducă celor care n-au fost cuminți și și-au băgat nasul prin tot felul de probleme dificile, cele mai importante și cele mai frumoase daruri. Pentru anul viitor, le doresc curaj și o armură cât mai trainică, fiindcă este un an care vine, el însuși, în armură”, le-a spus Sofia Şincan celor prezenţi la ceremonie.



    Evenimentul, devenit tradiție, a onorat personalități ale presei din România, jurnaliști care au participat la concursul Împreună pentru pace, lansat de UZPR, membri ai Uniunii, personalități publice de referință.



    Premiile UZPR, stabilite de un juriu alcătuit din profesioniști în domeniu, au fost acordate unor jurnaliști care s-au remarcat prin materialele de presă realizate în toate ariile domeniului — presă scrisă, online, radio, tv, carte de presă și publicistică. De asemenea, a fost acordată distincția Opera omnia pentru întreaga activitate unor personalități care s-au remarcat, de-a lungul unei cariere notabile, prin impactul pe care l-au avut asupra societății și opiniei publice.



    Alături de Ruxandra Săraru şi Sofia Şincan, premianţii acestei ediţii a Premiilor UZPR au fost Tudor Barbu, Pavel Constantin, Mircea Mitrofan, Neculai C. Muscalu, Simona Mihuțiu, Dan Constantin Mireanu, Eveline Păuna, Bogdan Chirieac, Daniela Șontică, Șerban Cartiș, Laurențiu Rădulescu, Adrian Vasilescu și Costi Pahonțu, precum și două instituții care au susținut dinamic și constant presa în anul 2023 — Comisia Națională a României pentru UNESCO și Muzeul Național al Literaturii Române.

    Târgul de carte Gaudeamus Radio România și-a închis porțile!

    Târgul de
    carte Gaudeamus Radio România, cel mai longeviv eveniment de acest fel din
    ţară, si-a inchis porțile duminică la București.

    Trofeele Gaudeamus,
    prin votul publicului, au revenit, în ordine, editurilor Humanitas, Litera şi
    Polirom. Cea mai râvnită carte, stabilită tot prin votul publicului, a fost ‘Mai
    mult ca trecutul’, de Ana Blandiana, iar Premiul Educaţia a răsplătit Editura
    Academiei de Studii Economice din Bucureşti. Premiul de Excelenţă, acordat de
    un juriu, s-a acordat Editurii Vellant pentru calitatea prezenţei la targ şi
    pentru lungul şir de cărţi de literatură şi arte, publicate în rafinate
    condiţii grafice şi pentru standul mereu atractiv, ‘pe roţi’, de la Gaudeamus.



    Zeci de mii de oameni au trecut, în răstimp de o
    săptămână, pragul Târgului de Carte.

    În pofida vremii urâte,
    vizitatorii au venit în număr mare și sâmbătă la Târgul Gaudeamus Radio
    România. În pavilionul central de la Romexpo, din Bucureşti, publicul a fost
    atras de oferta editorială, de reducerile semnificative de preţuri, dar şi de
    evenimentele zilei. La standul Radio România, de plidă, s-a desfășurat un
    atelier de bandă desenată, în prezenţa scriitoarei Ana Blandiana. Au avut loc
    si două lansări de cărţi audio pentru copii.

    A fost prezentat si volumul A fost odată la radio (1928-1938) de Monica Ghiță – Stoica,
    jurnalistă la Radio România Internațional. Cartea se adresează studenților și specialiștilor filologi, jurnaliști,
    sociologi, cât și publicului larg care dorește să afle unde se situa România,
    între 1928 și 1938, pe palierul comunicării radiofonice internaţionale.

    Cea de-a 30-a ediţie a Târgului Internaţional de
    Carte Gaudeamus Radio România, cel mai longeviv eveniment de acest fel din
    ţară, isi va închide porțile duminică.

    Miercuri, 22 noiembrie, a avut loc deschiderea oficială a Târgului de Carte Gaudeamus Radio România. 95 de ani de la prima emisie Radio România, 30 de ediții ale celui mai longeviv târg de carte din țară, 25 dintre acestea găzduite de Romexpo, peste 140 de ediții naționale și locale care au contribuit semnificativ la structurarea pieței naționale de carte sunt, fiecare în sine, un motiv de sărbătoare.

    Îi invităm pe toți iubitorii de carte, între 22 și 26 noiembrie, în Pavilionul Central Romexpo din București, să celebreze cartea alături de Radio România, organizatorul evenimentului. Accesul publicului este liber până duminică, inclusiv, între orele 10:00 și 20:00.

    În acest an celebrăm 30 de ani de Gaudeamus şi 95 de ani de Radio România. Cum am dori ca aceste cifre să nu fie doar cifre ci să aibă și conținut, spunem că vom continua să susținem tipurile de evenimente ce aduc plusvaloare societății, cum este acesta, şi care, de 30 de ani, nu numai că este validat, dar este dorit, iubit în continuare, cel puțin de publicul ce vine aici cu acces gratuit pentru a putea cumpăra însă cărți. Acesta e obiectivul: cumpărați și citiți! La finalul Galei Radio România, gală pe care am desfășurat-o pe 1 noiembrie, atunci când am sărbătorit 95 de ani de Radio România, a existat o voce, care ne-a rugat să avem grijă de Radio România, așa cum cred eu că ne-ar ruga să avem grijă și de Gaudeamus, și acea voce, atunci, realizată cu ajutorul unui soft de inteligență artificială, era vocea lui Florian Pittiș. Cred că trebuie să ascultăm vocile trecutului, să le punem în sufletul nostru și, dacă avem puterea să le facem auzite și astăzi, le facem auzite și cu astfel de evenimente, a spus Președintele Director General al Radio România, Răzvan Ioan Dincă.

    Vladimir Epstein, fondatorul târgului de carte, prezent la eveniment a spus: Să mulțumim în primul rând publicului, publicul este regele nostru, publicul guvernează ceea ce se întâmplă în acest târg de carte, să-i mulțumim pentru faptul că a atins, în cei 30 de ani, statisticile vorbesc despre asta, cifre de circa 2,5 milioane de vizitatori. Să mulțumim editorilor care produc evenimentele, să mulțumim autorilor, să mulțumim în final, dar nu în cele din urmă, instituției Radio România care a înțeles să transmită foarte multe din caracteristicile ei, și anume credibilitate și audiență. Iată, Târgul de Carte Gaudeamus a împrumutat și a preluat și a dat, la rândul lui, credibilitate și audiență.

    Ministerul Culturii a fost alături de Radio România și de Gaudeamus la toate edițiile. O vom face și de-acum încolo, și sarcina mea astăzi este să transmit salutul și urările doamnei Raluca Turcan, ministrul culturii, pentru toți editorii, pentru toți scriitorii care vor fi prezenți cu lansări de carte și, în principal, pentru toți cititorii care vor trece în aceste zile pe la târg și să sperăm că vor fi cât mai mulți, mii, zeci de mii, sute de mii în aceste zile pe la standurile Gaudeamus. Deci succes şi multă bucurie și cred că îmi pot permite să transmit angajamentul ferm al doamnei ministru de a sprijini și în viitor celelalte ediții ale Gaudeamus, a declarat Ioan Matei, reprezentantul Ministerului Culturii, directorul Direcției de Cultură Scrisă și Patrimoniu.

    Președintele de onoare al ediției, domnul Ion Bogdan Lefter, reputat scriitor, critic literar, profesor universitar, publicist, și, mai presus de toate, unul dintre cei mai entuziaști și constanți prieteni ai Târgului a declarat: E o plăcere, o onoare pentru mine să fi fost alături de fondatori și alături de târg de la început până azi. […] Radioul public are un rol extraordinar într-o societate, mai important probabil prin impactul în profunzimea societății decât Televiziunea Publică, furată de imagine și de alte tentații, încât faptul că în această țară se întâmplă această minunăție, care nu există în alte părți, și anume că postul public de Radio organizează an de an marele târg de carte Gaudeamus şi Caravana Gaudeamus, care funcționează în restul țării. Toate acestea formează o rețea și o instituție absolut extraordinare și care merită din plin să fie susținute în continuare. […] Da, trebuie susținut acest târg, pentru că el joacă un rol importantistim pentru o țară, pentru o cultură și pentru un post public de radio. […] Dați-mi voie, solemn, dar zâmbind, să declar deschisă ediția cu numărul 30 a Târgului de Carte Gaudeamus.
