MINISTER Romanias Foreign Minister, Luminita Odobescu has again firmly condemned Russias aggression war and has reiterated Romanias unflinching support for the independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity of the neighboring Ukraine. At the World Economic Forum in Davos, the Romanian official has underlined the risks of the Russian attacks against the Ukrainian civilians and major infrastructure pose to the regional security.

MEASURES The Romanian executive on Thursday approved the first measures requested by transporters and farmers who have been protesting in Romania for several days now. Its clear that all protests are justified and these decisions confirm the fact that many of these claims are absolutely legitimate – Prime Minister Marcel Ciolacu has said. In spite of the measures endorsed by the Executive, protests are still going on around the country. The Bucharest city hall has authorised for Sunday, Monday and Tuesday a protest expected to bring together 5 thousand people, 200 tractors and tractor heads. Family physicians and the personnel of the outpatient care units are also protesting the fund cuts for a series of medical services.

TRIAL The Pfizer company has sued Romania in Brussels to force its government to pay for the anti-Covid vaccine doses they contracted during the pandemic. According to the countrys health minister, Alexandru Rafila, Romania has negotiated for 28 million doses in a contract of roughly 550 million Euros. However, Romania failed to place the order and implicitly to get the contracted doses. The minister explains that against the background of a diminished interest for vaccination, Romania lacked the facilities to stockpile and destroy such a large quantity of vaccine. The Romanian official said he expected Pfizers legal action as that was also the case with other two states, Hungary and Poland. Late last year, the Romanian Anti-Corruption Directorate launched a criminal investigation against the former Prime Minister, Florin Citu, former health ministers Vlad Voiculescu and Ioana Mihaila as well as the former state secretary with the Health Ministry, Andrei Baciu. The have been accused of abuse of office for having contracted much larger quantities of vaccine than needed. Prosecutors have estimated a budget prejudice of over one billion Euros in this case.

WEATHER The weather is getting colder in the countrys northern regions, but highs are still above the usual figures for this period of the year mainly in the south and south-east. The sky is overcast and showers have been reported in some isolated regions. Mixed precipitations are also expected in the west, center, north and north-east, while snowfalls have been reported in the mountains. The wind is blowing at speeds of 45-50 km/h and is expected to reach 70 km/h in the mountains creating blizzards. The highs of the day are ranging between 2 and 14 degrees Celsius with a noon reading in Bucharest of 9 degrees.

TENNIS Romanian tennis player Victor Cornea has obtained his first win in a grand slam tournament today in Melbourne. He together with Indian Nsriram Balaji secured a two-set win 6-3, 6-4 against Matteo Arnaldi and Andrea Pellegrino of Italy in the first round of the mens doubles in Australian Open. The two will next take on Marcelo Arevalo of El Salvador and Mate Pavic of Croatia. Australian Open has been Corneas third grand slam tournament after Rolland Garros and US Open

Vaccination and anti-viral treatment in Romania

The number of patients infected with Covid-19 in
Romania is alarmingly increasing by the day. A new all-time high was registered
on Wednesday then authorities announced over 43 thousand new cases, 5 thousand
in Bucharest alone, the highest number of infections since the beginning of the
pandemic. New record highs have been reported in other counties as well.

According to Health Minister Alexandru Rafila,
the high number of infections was expected and there are no reasons for people
to panic. Rafila says that it has been for the first time when a large number
of tests have been done in 24 hours.

Alexandru
Rafila: Roughly 110 thousand tests have been carried out allowing us to assess
the evolution generated by the Omicron variant, which is more transmissible
than the previous variants. We continue to have severe cases caused by the
Delta variant, which is still present in Romania, where it accounts for 20-25%
of those infected, most of them being presently treated in ICUs.

Also on Wednesday, Romania kicked off a vaccination campaign for
children with ages between 5 and 11. According to army physician Valeriu
Gheorghita, in charge of Romania’s vaccine rollout, the vaccines approved and
authorized for this age bracket are safe, effective and can prevent over 90% of
the infections. 230 vaccination points have been set up across the country for
this campaign, which is using the vaccine produced by the well-known
pharmaceutical company Pfizer/BioNTech, which
has got the approval for the population above 12 years. Experts have underlined
that in order to get immunized, children must have the approval of their
parents or their legal trustees, who must fill in a special form.

Valeriu Gheorghiţă says that at present, in
Romania, out of the 7 thousand people treated in hospitals, roughly 10% are
children and people under 18 years, and the vaccine prevents the largest number
of severe cases and deaths. However, the interest of the Romanians in getting
the vaccine remains low with a little over 8 million who got the first jab, 7.9
million fully vaccinated and over 2.3 million with the booster. Authorities
have again reminded people that the vaccine is the best way to stop the Covid-19
pandemic.

According to minister Rafila, the first
quantities of Molnupiravir, a drug prescribed to the high-risk patients
infected with the novel coronavirus in hospitals and other treatment facilities
could arrive in Romania late this week. In his opinion, the medicine will have
a positive impact, by reducing the pressure on ICUs as well as the number of
fatalities.

Vaccin – La Roumanie a reçu mardi
114.000 doses de vaccin Pfizer destinées à la vaccination des enfants âgés de 5
à 11 ans qui commencera à partir de mercredi. Entre temps, le pays se confronte
à une recrudescence sévère des cas de contamination. Un nouveau record a été
enregistré mardi, quand les autorités ont rapporté 19865 nouveaux cas de
Covid-19 et 44 décès associés. Pourtant, la pression sur les hôpitaux est
inférieure à celle de la vague précédente, même si le nombre d’hospitalisations augmente d’un jour à l’autre, en dépassant actuellement 7000 cas. 650 personnes
positives sont hospitalisées dans des unités de soins intensifs.

Mesures – Le gouvernement de Bucarest
a approuvé mardi une série de mesures censées appuyer les citoyens à préserver
leurs emplois et l’économie à rester
compétente. L’annonce a été faite par le premier ministre, Nicolae Ciuca qui a
expliqué que les mesures seront mises en place deux mois durant, à savoir en
février et en mars. « Les consommateurs roumains paieront 0,16 euros tout
au plus pour un kw/heure pour l’électricité et 0,06 euros tout au plus
pour un kw/heure pour le gaz, quelle que soit leur consommation. Les ménages
dont la consommation est de moins de 500 kw/heure pour l’énergie électrique et
de moins de 300 m3 pour les gaz naturels, le prix du kw sera plafonné à 0,14 euros
pour l’électricité et à 0,04 euros pour le gaz, toutes taxes comprises » a
fait savoir le chef du gouvernement. Pour les consommateurs industriels, le
tarif d’un kw/heure sera gelé à un leu pour l’électricité et à 0,07 euros pour
le gaz.

Ukraine – L’Ukraine met au point un
plan B pour pouvoir faire face à tout scénario possible et à toute action de
Moscou, a fait savoir la vice-première ministre ukrainienne chargée de
l’intégration européenne et euro-atlantique, Olha Stefanişîna. Dans une
déclaration à Radio Roumanie, celle-ci a parlé du fort souhait de son pays de
rejoindre l’OTAN. « Pour nous, c’est crucial de voir se concrétiser les
pas à faire afin d’adhérer à l’Alliance à l’occasion du prochain sommet. Si le
document ne comporte pas de propos sur une future adhésion de Kiev, cela veut
dire que la Russie a gain de cause et que l’élargissement de l’OTAN s’arrête ».
Les leaders occidentaux accusent Moscou
de se faire responsable des actuelles tensions et affirment que le problème de
la sécurité et de la stabilité en Europe pouvait être solutionné par des
négociations. Lundi, la situation engendrée par les actions agressives de
Moscou à proximité de l’Ukraine et dans la région de la mer Noire avait été
incluse à l’agenda de la réunion du Conseil Affaires étrangères qui a eu lieu à
Bruxelles. Le ministre Bogdan Aurescu a proposé l’examen de la possibilité
d’organiser une réunion du Conseil Affaires étrangères à Kiev, pour exprimer la
solidarité de l’UE avec l’Ukraine. Il a réitéré l’importance de soutenir le
renforcement de la résilience de l’Ukraine et des autres partenaires de l’Est
ainsi qu’une implication accrue de l’UE afin de trouver une solution politique
aux conflits prolongés de la région de la mer Noire.

Corruption – La Roumanie
reste un des trois pays les plus corrompus de l’UE, aux côtés de la Hongrie et
de la Bulgarie, selon Transparency International. L’Indice de Perception de la
Corruption (IPC) de Transparency International classe 180 pays en fonction du
degré de corruption perçue dans les administrations publiques et la classe
politique. Malgré les mesures adoptées, 131 pays n’ont enregistré aucun progrès
significatif ces dix dernières années, dans leur lutte contre la corruption.
Selon Transparency International, un des domaines les plus vulnérables de
Roumanie est celui des acquisitions publiques. Le rapport reproche à notre pays
le manque de transparence des dépenses publiques pendant les années de
pandémie.

Eurovision – Au total, 41
pays participeront au Concours Eurovision de la chanson à Turin en mai 2022.
Alors que cinq pays – l’Allemagne, la France, la Grande-Bretagne, l’Espagne et
l’Italie, qui est aussi le pays hôte – sont déjà qualifiés au Concours
Eurovision de la chanson, les 36 autres nations chanteront dans les deux
spectacles de demi-finale (18 pays chacun) les 10 et 12 mai pour une place en
finale le 14 mai (toujours en direct à partir de 21h sur ORF 1). Dans le cadre
du tirage au sort effectué le mardi 25 janvier 2022, à Turin, la Roumanie sera présente dans la deuxième
demi-finale, organisée le pays à l’occasion d’une finale organisée le 5 mars,
en direct, sur la chaîne publique de télévision.

Météo – Le temps commencera
légèrement à s’adoucir dans les 24 prochaines heures. Le ciel demeure couvert
et des pluies éparses pourraient tomber sur l’est et l’ouest du relief. Le vent
soufflera légèrement sur l’ensemble du pays et plus fort en altitude, sur le
nord-est et sur le sud-ouest extrême. Les températures maximales iront de -4 à

Covid-19Ro. 8,292 new cases of coronavirus infection were reported
in Romania in the last 24 hours, after some 32 thousand tests were run, the
Strategic Communication Group announced on Monday. Within the same timeframe,
133 related deaths were also reported. 14,153 Covid-19 patients are currently
hospitalized, of whom 406 are children. 1,468 patients, including 21 children,
are in intensive care. At national level, there are almost no free beds left
for Covid-19 patients in intensive care. The incidence over 14 days is higher
than 3 per one thousand inhabitants in 185 towns and cities and in 991
villages. In another move, the European Medicines Agency has approved the
administration of the third dose of Pfizer/BioNTech vaccine in people over 18
saying that protection after the first two doses might drop. Additional doses
of Moderna and Pfizer for people with a weak immunes system have also been
approved by the agency. The administration of the third dose started in Romania
last week.

Motion.
The
two-chamber parliament in Bucharest debates and votes, on Tuesday, the motion
of no confidence filed by the Social-Democratic opposition (PSD) against the
Government led by the liberal Florin Cîţu. Apart from PSD, the Save Romania
Union, former junior partner in the ruling coalition, and the Alliance for the
Union of Romanians (AUR) will also vote in favour. Together, the three parties
have 280 parliamentarians, which is more than the 234 votes needed for the
government to fall. With only 134 MPs, the National Liberal Party has announced
that it will hold individual negotiations to support the Cabinet, which the
Democratic Union of Ethnic Hungarian is also part of.

Survey. More than 80% of Romanians believe that things in the
country are going in the wrong direction and only 12.5% believe that the
direction is right, according to a
survey conducted by INSCOP Research in partnership with Verifield, commissioned
by the ‘Strategic Thinking Group’. The percentage of dissatisfied people is higher
compared to the previous months. 48.8% of the respondents believe that mainly
Romanian companies and citizens are involved in illegal logging in Romania, while
44.8% believe that foreign companies are to blame. As regards immigrants coming
to Romania, 64.2% believe that this could trigger serious problems in Romanian
society, while 30% think that such a measure could help cover the need for
labor force in the country. The president of the Strategic Thinking Group,
Remus Ştefureac, says that three major crises overlapping, the pandemic, the
economic-social crisis and the political one, has created a state of ‘accentuated pessimism and deterioration of
perception’ with regard to the direction the country is heading in. A great
part of the population will be pushed into making radical political choices,
which will not solve, but rather worsen the issues society is facing, Remus
Ştefureac also said.

Nobel
Prize. The American researchers
David Julius and Ardem Patapoutian were awarded on Monday the Nobel Prize in
Physiology or Medicine 2021. According to the announcement made by Thomas
Perlmann, secretary general of the Nobel Committee, the two received the Prize
for their discoveries of receptors of temperature and touch. The Nobel Prize
in Physiology or Medicine opens the series of these prestigious awards, granted
each year in early October. The Nobel Awards ceremony continues with the Prize
in Physics on October 5, the Prize in Chemistry on October 6, the Prize in Literature
on October 7, and the Nobel Peace Prize on October 8. The Prize in Economic

52.768 de persoane imunizate în Romănia, în ultimele 24 de ore

52.768 doze de vaccin (42.721 Pfizer, 2.527 Moderna, 3.569 AstraZeneca şi 3.951 Johnson&Johnson) au fost administrate în România, în ultimele 24 de ore, informează Comitetul Naţional de Coordonare a activităţilor privind vaccinarea (CNCAV) împotriva COVID-19, potrivit datelor puse la dispoziție de Institutul Naţional de Sănătate Publică prin aplicaţia Registrul Electronic Naţional al Vaccinărilor.

În acelaşi interval, 16.711 de persoane au fost vaccinate cu prima doză şi 36.057 de persoane cu cea de-a doua.

Din 27 decembrie 2020 au fost administrate 7.926.291 de doze unui număr de 4.336.728 de persoane, dintre care 747.165 au primit o doză şi 3.589.563 şi pe cea de-a doua.

În ultimele 24 de ore, au fost înregistrate 21 de reacţii adverse – 3 de tip local şi 18 de tip general.

De la debutul campaniei de vaccinare s-au înregistrat 16.102 de reacţii adverse la vaccinurile anti-COVID – 1.729 de tip local şi 14.373 de tip general.

143 de reacţii adverse sunt în curs de investigare, precizează CNCAV.

64.133 de persoane imunizate în România, în ultimele 24 de ore

64.133 de doze de vaccin, (50.450 Pfizer, 2.001 Moderna, 4.377 AstraZeneca şi 7.305 Johnson&Johnson), au fost administrate în ultimele 24 de ore, în România, informează Comitetul Naţional de Coordonare a Activităţilor privind vaccinarea (CNCAV) împotriva COVID-19, potrivit informațiilor puse la dispoziție de Institutul Naţional de Sănătate Publică prin aplicaţia Registrul Electronic Naţional al Vaccinărilor.

În acelaşi interval, 20.536 de persoane au fost vaccinate cu prima doză şi 43.597 de persoane cu cea de-a doua.

Din 27 decembrie 2020 au fost administrate 7.873.523 de doze unui număr de 4.320.017 de persoane, dintre care 766.511 au primit o doză şi 3.553.506 şi pe cea de-a doua.

În ultimele 24 de ore, au fost înregistrate 31 de reacţii adverse – 5 de tip local şi 26 de tip general.

De la debutul campaniei de vaccinare s-au înregistrat 16.081 de reacţii adverse la vaccinurile anti-COVID – 1.726 de tip local şi 14.355 de tip general.

DAY
We need the competence of all Romanians to build a prosperous country so that
all those who emigrated may come back home with joy, the country’s president
Klaus Iohannis has today said in a message conveyed on the occasion of the Day
of the Romanians from all over the World, the country celebrates on the last
Sunday of May. The head of the Romanian state thanked all the Romanians
abroad for the responsibility and solidarity they showed with those that stayed
at home. He recalled the difficult moments we had been through during the
pandemic, which proved tough for both the Romanians abroad and their relatives
at home. According to the president, since Romania benefits from European
funds, which are to ease massive investment in all areas, the country is going
to enter an ample process of development and reforms. The Day of the Romanians
from All Over the World represents a moment in which we are considering the
importance of keeping identity and national values every Romanian keeps in their
heart, Foreign Minister Bogdan Aurescu has underlined in his message. According
to him, strengthening the dialogue and the ties with members of the Romanian
communities is the Foreign Ministry’s key priority together with the promotion
of the historical and cultural heritage.

GYMNASTICS According to the Romanian Gymnastics
Federation, our athletes have walked away with gold from the group finals of
the 16th edition of the World Aerobic Gymnastics Championship
underway in Baku, Azerbaijan. The victor team includes Gabriel Bocser, Teodora
Cucu, Daniel Tavoc, David Gavrilovici and Mihai Alin Popa. At the present
edition of the aforementioned competition, athletes from Romania have also
reaped silver in the teams contest and bronze in the trio event. The teams
ranking is based on the best results won in trio, mixed, aerobic dance and the
men’s and women’s individual events.

PNL The national council of the
National Liberal Party (PNL), Romania’s main ruling political force is going to
convene today to set the election procedures inside the party, the date of its
congress and its assembly, which seems to be September 25th. Before
the proceedings kick-off, the country’s incumbent Prime Minister Florin Citu
has announced his intention to run for the party’s presidency, underlying the
party needs a new impetus. At present, the party’s vice-president, Florin Citu
has pledged that PNL will stay in power for at least 8 years and that together they
will transform Romania into a liberal country where all Romanians are going to
live happily. The incumbent PNL president Ludovic Orban has said there is going
to be a beautiful presidential race, which proves to the Romanians that the
Liberals rely on strong human resources and that this party is able to ensure the
country’s good ruling.

VACCINE ROLLOUT Vaccination marathons are being carried on
in Romania this weekend. In Brasov, central Romania a mobile vaccination unit
is going to travel for five days around the city’s most crowded places to
deliver vaccines to people, while a new drive through vaccination center has
been made available in Petrosani, western Romania. 76 thousand Romanians have
been vaccinated in the past 24 hours and since the vaccine rollout kicked off
in this country in late December last year, 3.5 million people have been fully
vaccinated. Authorities intend to open a new vaccination marathon for the young
people with ages between 16 and 18 over May 31st and June 1st.
A vaccination campaign for children with ages between 12 and 15 is going to
kick off next week, after the European Medicine Agency has authorized the
Pfizer vaccine for this age bracket. On the other hand 158 new infections were
reported on Sunday and 29 people died. 443 patients are being treated in IC
units.

COVID-19 IN ROMANIA – New vaccination marathons are being held this weekend in
Romania. In Bucharest, the marathon addresses people who took the first
anti-COVID shot three weeks ago as well as people who want to take the first
shot. A vaccination caravan will travel to markets and crowded areas in Brasov.
In Petrosani, people can get vaccinated in drive-through centers. Nearly 70,000
people got vaccinated in Romania in the last 24 hours. Since the start of the
pandemic, over 4.2 million people got vaccinated, of whom 3.5 with both shots
of the vaccine. The number of COVID-19 infections continues to drop in Romania.
265 new infections were reported on Saturday, in addition to 73 related
fatalities. 452 people are in intensive care.

PFIZER – Children aged 12-15 can get the anti-COVID vaccine
developed by Pfizer / BioNTech. The European Medicines Agency on Friday
authorized the vaccine as safe for use by children in this age bracket. Romania
is expected to make the first appointments starting next week, the president of
the national commission for coordinating the vaccination campaign, Dr. Valeriu
Gheorghiţă. This is the first vaccine greenlit for immunizing teenagers
in the 27 EU member states. Tests carried out at EU level show that the vaccine
has 100% efficiency for young people. The European Medicines Agency has
recommended each member state should decide when and how to administer the
vaccine.

NATO -
NATO Deputy Secretary General, Mircea Geoană, on Monday is paying a visit to
Romania, accompanied by the president of the NATO Military Commission, General
Stuart Peach. Mircea Geoană’s agenda is very busy, including a visit to the
NATO Multinational Division Southeast, which is taking part in the NATO
Steadfast Defender 21 multinational exercise. Mircea Geoană will meet with
Romania’s Defense Minister, Nicolae Ciucă and with Chief of General Staff,
Daniel Petrescu. The NATO official will also attend the Black Sea Atlantic
Security Council, hosted by Aspen Institute – Romania. During his visit Mircea
Geoană will open the Euro-Atlantic Resilience Center, alongside Romania’s
president, Klaus Iohannis, Foreign Minister Bogdan Aurescu, and EU Commissioner
for Inter-institutional relations and forecast, Maros Sefcovic, the
vice-president of the European Commission.

DONATION -
Romania has donated 40 tons of humanitarian aid to the city of Cernăuţi
(Ukraine), with a total worth of €1.2 million, designed to help combat the
COVID-19 pandemic. The donation includes protection equipment for health
workers: masks, gowns, head protection gear and disinfectants. Secretary of
State with the Romanian Foreign Ministry, Dan Neculăescu, attended the donation
ceremony, pointed out that the coronavirus pandemic is a common global
challenge that has no geographic barriers. In turn, Ukraine’s deputy Foreign Minister,
Vasil Bodnar, said that the humanitarian aid for Ukraine is a strong signal of
solidarity from a country that is not just our neighbor, but an important
member of the European Union and NATO.

ROMANIANS
– The Romanian Patriarchate on Saturday conveyed a message of unity to all
Romanians in the Diaspora, ahead of the Day of Romanians Worldwide, to be
marked on Sunday. We urge all Romanians living outside Romania to keep in touch
with their loved ones back home, to keep the family and Romanian community
united, Romanian Orthodox Church Patriarch Daniel has said. Under a 2015 piece
of legislation, the Day of Romanians Worldwide is celebrated on the last Sunday
of May. In the last decade, the Romanian Patriarchate has founded numerous
parishes for Romanian Orthodox Christians living in the Republic of Moldova,
Northern Bukovina, Serbia, Bulgaria and Hungary. Churches have also been opened
in Western Europe, America, Australia, New Zealand, the Holy Land, Cyprus,
Turkey, South Africa and Japan.

IMF -
The IMF estimates an economic growth for Romania of 7% this year, 3% over the
initial estimate. The budget deficit forecast has also dropped to 6.8% compared
to the initial estimate of 7.2%. The IMF confirms Romania has the largest
economic growth in the EU, Prime Minister Florin Cîţu writes on his Facebook
page. According to the Prime Minister, the effects of implemented reforms are
starting to show, and the best period for Romanians is yet to come. (VP)

Coronavirus – De nouveaux marathons de vaccination ont lieu dans toute la Roumanie en cette fin de semaine. A Bucarest, par exemple, c’est la deuxième étape d’un événement de ce type – les personnes ayant reçu la première dose début mai sont attendues pour recevoir leur rappel avant lundi matin. Des personnes n’ayant pas reçu la première injection sont également attendues. A Braşov, dans le centre du pays, une caravane de la vaccination se rendra durant cinq jours dans différents endroits de la ville, marchés ou autres coins populaires. A Petroşani, dans la région minière de la Vallée du Jiu, on a ouvert un vacci-drive. Dans les dernières 24 heures, près de 70.000 personnes ont été vaccinées contre la Covid-19 et 265 ont été testées positives au Sars-Cov-2.

Vaccination – L’Agence européenne des médicaments a approuvé hier l’utilisation du vaccin anti-Covid Pfizer/BioNTech pour les 12-15 ans. La Roumanie devrait proposer les premiers rendez-vous pour ce groupe d’âge à partir de la semaine prochaine, a annoncé le coordinateur de la campagne nationale de vaccination Valeriu Gheorghiţă. Pfizer/BioNTech devient ainsi le premier vaccin à être autorisé pour les adolescents au sein des 27 pays de l’Union européenne. Le vaccin est « bien toléré » par les jeunes et il n’y a « pas d’inquiétudes majeures » concernant d’éventuels effets secondaires, a assuré Marco Cavaleri, responsable de la stratégie vaccinale de l’Agence européenne des médicaments, qui recommande aux Etats membres de décider les modalités et le calendrier de la vaccination des adolescents.

Economie – Le Fonds monétaire international estime qu’en 2021 la Roumanie connaîtra une croissance économique de 7%, soit trois points de pourcentage de plus rapporté aux estimations précédentes. Le déficit budgétaire est revu à la baisse, 6,8% contre 7,2% initialement. Les prévisions du FMI placent ainsi la Roumanie en tête de la croissance économique dans l’UE cette année, écrit le premier ministre roumain Florin Cîţu sur sa page Facebook. D’après M. Cîţu, on commence à voir les résultats des réformes menées par le gouvernement, et ce n’est que le début d’une très bonne période pour les Roumains.

Diplomatie – La Roumanie a fait don à la région de Tchernivtsi, en Ukraine, de 40 tonnes d’équipements de protection médicale (masques, combinaisons, visières et désinfectants) afin de la soutenir dans la lutte contre le coronavirus. L’aide de 1,2 millions d’euros est destinée au personnel médical de cette région située à la frontière nord de la Roumanie et où vit une minorité roumaine. Selon le secrétaire d’Etat auprès du ministère roumain des Affaires étrangères Dan Neculăescu, présent à la cérémonie de remise de dons, « la pandémie de Covid-19 est un défi global, qui ne connaît pas de frontières ». De son côté, le vice-ministre ukrainien des Affaires étrangères Vasyl Bodnar a souligné que « l’aide humanitaire accordée à l’Ukraine représente un fort signal de solidarité de la part d’un pays qui n’est pas seulement notre voisin, mais aussi un membre important de l’Union européenne et de l’OTAN ».

Tennis – La joueuse roumaine de tennis Sorana Cîrstea rencontre aujourd’hui, dans la finale des Internationaux de Strasbourg, la Tchèque Barbora Krejčíková, cinquième tête de série du tournoi. Dans les demi-finales, Cîrstea a vaincu la Polonaise Magda Linette, score 3-6, 6-4, 6-2. La Roumaine a disputé six finales jusqu’à présent dans sa carrière et en a remporté deux, celle de Tashkent en 2008 et celle d’Istanbul le mois dernier.

Potrivit datelor puse la dispoziția
CNCAV de către INSP, prin aplicația Registrul Electronic Național al
Vaccinărilor (RENV), în ultimele 24 de ore au fost imunizate 69.477 de
persoane dintre care 24.480 au primit prima doză, iar 44.997 au primit
doza a doua.

24.480 de persoane au primit prima
doză de vaccin dintre care: 14.758 au fost vaccinate cu serul de la compania
Pfizer, 941 de la Moderna, 106 de la compania AstraZeneca și 8.675 cu
serul de la compania Johnson&Johnson.

44.997 de persoane au primit doza a
doua de vaccin, după cum urmează: 35.479 de la compania Pfizer, 3.371 de la
Moderna și 6.147 de la AstraZeneca.

S-au administrat 6.121.238 doze de
vaccin Pfizer (începând cu 27 decembrie 2020). 653.081 doze de vaccin Moderna
(începând cu 4 februarie 2021), 786.084 doze de vaccin AstraZeneca (începând cu
15 februarie 2021) și 102.965 doze de vaccin Johnson&Johnson (vaccinul
Johnson&Johnson se administrează din data de 04 mai 2021 și este în doză
unică). Totalul dozelor administrate fiind 7.663.368

84.975 de persoane imunizate în ultimele 24 de ore, în România

84.975 de doze de vaccin, (62.749 Pfizer, 7.079 Moderna, 7.800 AstraZeneca şi 7.347 Johnson&Johnson) au fost adminsitrate ăn România, în ultimele 24 de ore, informează Comitetul Naţional de Coordonare a Activităţilor privind Vaccinarea împotriva COVID-19 (CNCAV), potrivit datelor puse la dispoziţie de Institutul Naţional de Sănătate Publică prin aplicaţia Registrul Electronic Naţional al Vaccinărilor.

În ultimele 24 de ore, 28.366 de persoane au fost vaccinate cu prima doză şi 56.609 de persoane cu cea de-a doua.

Din 27 decembrie 2020 au fost administrate 7.199.038 de doze unui număr de 4.086.224 de persoane, dintre care 973.410 au primit o doză şi 3.112.814 şi pe cea de-a doua, potrivit CNCAV.

82 de reacţii adverse – nouă de tip local şi 73 de tip general, au fost înregistrate în ultimele 24 de ore.

De la începutul campaniei de vaccinare s-au înregistrat 15.650 de reacţii adverse la vaccinurile Pfizer, Moderna şi AstraZeneca – 1.670 de tip local şi 13.980 de tip general.

Vaccination – La Roumanie recevra lundi une nouvelle tranche de vaccin contre la Covid 19 comptant quelque 697 320 doses produites par la compagnie Pfizer BioNTech, a annoncé le Comité national de coordination des activités visant l’immunisation contre la Covid 19. Les vaccins seront délivrés par voie aérienne et arriveront sur les aéroports internationaux des villes de Bucarest, Cluj et Timisoara. Depuis le début de la campagne, en décembre 2020 plus de 3,8 millions de personnes ont été immunisées avec au moins un des vaccins disponibles, soit 6,5 millions de doses de vaccin. Le coordinateur de la campagne, le médecin militaire Valeriu Gheorghiţă, demande aux mairies d’identifier des moyens supplémentaires de vaccination adaptés à la spécificité des communautés locales. Entre temps la pandémie de coronavirus connait une évolution à la baisse partout en Roumanie. Dimanche, les autorités ont annoncé 565 nouveaux cas de contamination au SARS CoV 2, après quelque 18 750 tests effectués. Le groupe de Communication stratégique a rapporté 38 décès des suites de la Covid 19. 777 malades de Covid sont actuellement en soins intensifs. Désormais, la Capitale et tous les autres départements du pays sont en zone verte, avec moins de 1,5 cas d’infection par mille habitants.

Ecole – A partir de ce lundi, les élèves roumains ne seront plus obligés à porter le
masque dans la cour de l’école. Selon le ministre de l’éducation nationale,
Sorin Câmpeanu, plus de deux millions et demi d’enfants de 2 500 écoles pourront
participer physiquement à des cours, puisque le taux d’infection au nouveau
coronavirus a baissé sous le seuil de 1 par mille habitants. 300 000 écoliers
de 650 localités, dont la Capitale, Bucarest, resteront dans un scénario jaune,
avec une participation en présentiel aux cours des élèves du primaire et en
terminale, alors que le reste des élèves participeront aux cours en distanciel.
Si des cas de Covid sont signalés dans une classe, tous les élèves de celle-ci
passent à l’enseignement en ligne. Le ministre de l’éducation nationale a
précisé que les examens nationaux seront adaptés aux conditions actuelles, avec
des cours déroulés surtout en ligne. Mais le niveau de difficulté des tests à l’évaluation nationale et au
baccalauréat restera le même.

Gaza – Entre 320 et 350 ressortissants roumains se trouvent actuellement à Gaza et les missions diplomatiques de la région ont reçu l’instruction de se préparer pour leur accorder de l’appui, a déclaré le chef de la diplomatie roumaine Bogdan Aurescu. Aucune demande d’assistance consulaire de la part des Roumains en zone de conflit n’a été enregistrée jusqu’ici, a-t-il précisé. Dans une interview accordée à la chaine de télévision roumaine Prima TV, le ministre roumain a rappelé que la Roumanie avait condamné fermement les tirs de roquettes en provenance de la Bande de Gaza sur des zones habitées par des civils en Israël et déploré les pertes de vies humaines, tout en espérant que celles-ci allaient s’arrêter. Bucarest a des relations exceptionnelles avec l’Etat d’Israël, qui est un partenaire aux valences stratégiques pour la Roumanie ainsi que des relations très bonnes avec le côté palestinien. Les ministres des Affaires Etrangères de l’UE participent mardi à une visioconférence d’urgence sur le thème de l’escalade des combats entre Israël et les palestiniens.

Coronavirus dans le monde – L’Italie renonce à la quarantaine de cinq jours imposée aux touristes européens, suite au relâchement de plusieurs restrictions. Les piscines en plein air et les plages sont ouvertes et les touristes peuvent enlever leurs masques uniquement lorsqu’ils sont sous le parasol ou dans l’eau. Après trois mois durant lesquels la quarantaine a été imposée aux voyageurs des Etats de l’UE, de l’espace Schengen, du Royaume Uni et d’Israël, à partir d’aujourd’hui pour entrer en Italie il faut uniquement présenter un test antigénique rapide négatif réalisé 48 heures avant le départ, et ceci même dans le cas des voyageurs vaccinés avec les deux doses. La Grèce a également ouvert la saison touristique aux étrangers. Pour pouvoir entrer sur le territoire de ce pays, il faut être vacciné, sinon présenter un test Covid négatif, ou la preuve d’avoir passé par la maladie durant les 9 derniers mois. Les autorités peuvent pourtant réaliser des tests rapides aléatoires aux poste-frontière. En Pologne également, les restaurants et les bars ouvrent leurs terrasses à l’extérieur et renoncent au port obligatoire du masque. Jusqu’ici plus de 163 millions de cas d’infection au SARS CoV 2 ont été enregistrés jusqu’ici alors qu’au moins 3,3 millions de personnes sont décédées, selon les worldmeters.info. Les pays ayant enregistré le plus de cas et de décès sont les Etats Unis, l’Inde et le Brésil.

Coronavirus – Bucarest, la capitale, reste dans la zone rouge de la pandémie avec 3,46 cas de contamination par 1000 habitants dépistés en 14 jours. S’y ajoutent les départements d’Ilfov (sud) et Cluj (nord-ouest). Les chiffres sont à la baisse, mais dans les trois cas, des restrictions plus dures sont toujours en vigueur. 20 départements sont dans le scénario jaune, avec un taux d’incidence des cas de contamination allant de 1,5 à 3 cas par 1000 habitants. 19 autres départements sont dans la zone verte, avec moins de 1,5 cas de coronavirus par 1000 habitants. Lundi, 1256 nouveaux cas de contamination ont été rapportés sur près de 12 000 tests effectués dimanche. En même temps, 10 500 malades de Covid sont hospitalisés en ce moment, dont 1350 – en soins intensifs. 117 décès causés par cette maladie ont été rapportés ce lundi, ce qui porte le bilan mortel à 27 511, depuis le début de la pandémie en Roumanie. Jusqu’ici environ 1 047 000 de Roumains ont été malades de Covid, dont 976 000 ont guéri. La Roumaine s’est vu attribuer lundi sa plus grande tranche du vaccin Pfizer-BioNTech : plus de 725 000 doses, a fait savoir le Comité national de coordination des activités visant la vaccination anticovid, auxquelles se sont ajoutées 41 000 doses du sérum Astra Zeneca reçues toujours lundi. Depuis le début de la vaccination anticovid, en décembre dernier, près de 5 millions de doses ont été administrées à plus de 3 millions de Roumains. C’est-à-dire qu’environ 1 million 800 mille personnes ont déjà reçu les deux doses.

Diplomatie – Les autorités roumaines ont déclaré persona non grata sur le territoire roumain Alexey Grishaev, adjoint de l’attaché militaire au sein de l’Ambassade russe à Bucarest. Selon un communiqué officiel, la décision survient après qu’on a découvert que « les activités et les actions de M. Grishaev contrevenaient aux prévisions de 1961 de la Convention de Venise au sujet des relations diplomatiques ». Cette prise de position a été communiquée à la partie russe lundi, lors de la convocation au siège du Ministère roumain des Affaires Etrangères de l’ambassadeur de la Fédération de Russie à Bucarest, Valery Kuzmin.

PNRR – Le ministre roumain chargé des Investissements et des Projets européens,
Cristian Ghinea, a annoncé lundi, que la Roumanie avancera le Plan national de redressement et de résilience (PNRR) le 31 mai. L’annonce
a été faite à l’issue d’une réunion de travail convoquée par le président roumain Klaus Iohannis, avec la participation du premier
ministre Florin Cîtu, du président de la Chambre des Députés Ludovic Orban et des vice-premiers ministres
Dan Barna et Kelemen Hunor. Le gouvernement s’est engagé à faire d’ici fin mai
quelques modifications au plan après que la Commission européenne s’est dit
contre le financement des systèmes d’irrigations et pour une réduction de
l’enveloppe destinée à l’infrastructure, enveloppe qu’elle considère trop consistante. Le
PNRR est un plan à court terme qui se donne pour principal
objectif de soutenir les économies européennes à se redresser rapidement après
la pandémie. Ces derniers jours, une dispute intestine a eu lieu au sein de la
classe politique roumaine après que le PSD eut affirmé que l’Exécutif européen
aurait rejeté le plan roumain, tandis que le gouvernement a expliqué que la
Commission n’a fait que quelques remarques. Le leader du PSD, Marcel Ciolacu
insiste que le PNRR soit débattu au sein du Législatif.

Voitures -Coup d’envoi à partir de lundi, des programmes de renouvellement du parc automobile et de mise à la casse, appelées le « Tacot Clasic » et le « Tacot Plus ». Le premier dispose d’un budget de 440 millions de lei (environ 88 millions d’euros), soit 35 millions de lei de plus qu’en 2020, ce qui permettra l’achat de plus de 55.000 véhicules neufs moins polluants. Dans le même temps, le programme le Tacot Plus, destiné à l’achat de voitures électriques, bénéficie d’un budget de 400 millions de lei (près de 80 millions d’euros). Des primes de 10.000 euros seront accordées pour les voitures à 100% électriques et d’autres, de 4.500 euros – pour les voitures hybrides rechargeables, à condition que le montant de la prime ne dépasse pas 50% de la valeur du nouveau véhicule. Grâce au budget alloué cette année, le programme Le Tacot Plus permettra l’achat de 6.600 voitures à 100% électriques et d’environ 5.000 voitures hybrides plug-in.

DIPLOMACY The head
of the Romanian diplomacy Bogdan Aurescu on Monday participated in the online
meeting of the EU Foreign Ministers. High on the agenda were the situations in
Georgia and Belarus, the Navalny case, the EU-India relations, the situation in
Myanmar, the Iranian nuclear file, the situation in Mozambique and the
Post-Cotonou Agreement. Talks also focused on the latest developments in
Ethiopia and Ukraine. Ministers hailed the conclusions over the southern
vicinity, an EU cooperation strategy for the India-Pacific region and the EU
integrated strategy for Sahel. Minister Aurescu highlighted the importance of
the EU’s consistent and sustained support for Ukraine’s efforts as essential
for consolidating the rule of law and democracy. He has also voiced concern for
the Russian deployment of troops and military gear in Crimea, at Ukraine’s
eastern border, reiterating Romania’s stand for supporting Ukraine’s
territorial integrity and sovereignty. The Romanian official also reiterated
the need for a more active EU involvement in settling the long-lasting
conflicts in the Black Sea region.

COVID-10 Over 1,768 new SARS-CoV-2 infections have been reported in
Romania in the past 24 hours, out of roughly 12 thousand tests carried out, the
Group for Strategic Communication has announced. 149 people have died bringing
the death toll up to 26,500. More than one million people have been infected in
Romania since the beginning of the pandemic and over 90% of them have cured. Over
half a million doses of Pfizer BioNTech vaccine arrived in Romania on Monday, adding
to the nearly four million Romania has so far received from the US-German
company. Since the vaccine rollout kicked off in Romania in late December, over
2.6 million people have been immunized, out of which 1.6 million has got the
booster dose. Romania is presently using the vaccines authorised by the
European Medicines Agency, EMA, namely Pfizer, Moderna and AstraZeneca.

TENNIS The WTA ranking has remained unchanged since last week.

Simona Halep. Romania boasts four players in top 100. One of these is Patricia

PANDEMIC
The total number of
COVID-19 infections worldwide is now over 142 million, with 120 million
patients recovered and 3 million dead, according to the latest worldometers.info
updates. As of today, in Italy, only 3 out of 20 provinces remain in the red
zone, with the toughest restrictions. The others are included in the orange
zone, but many will be rated as yellow zone as of next week, allowing the
reopening of restaurants and resuming travels from one region to another. As of
today, 7 million children in Italy return to schools after over a year of
absence. Meanwhile, UK reports decreases both in terms of COVID-related deaths
and in terms of infections, and the number of people getting vaccines every 24
hours has reached 600,000. In Israel, mass vaccination led to the almost
complete reopening of the economy. The infection rate has been staying very low
for over a week. Israeli citizens are no longer bound to wear face covering
outdoor, and school activities are back to normal. Across the ocean, over half
of the total number of adults in the US have received at least a first dose of anti-COVID
vaccine.

Nach fast 12.000 Tests wurden in Rumänien binnen 24 Stunden 1.768 Neufälle von mit SARS-CoV-2 infizierten Personen registriert – teilte die Gruppe für Strategische Kommunikation am Montagnachmittag mit. Im gleichen Zeitraum starben 149 infizierte Menschen, was einer Gesamtzahl von 26.500 Todesfällen entspricht. Seit Ausbruch der Pandemie wurden in Rumänien über eine Million mit dem neuen Coronavirus infizierte Menschen bestätigt und über 90% von ihnen sind genesen. Ebenfalls am Montag kamen über eine halbe Million Dosen Pfizer BioNTech-Impfstoff in Rumänien an. Die neue Tranche kommt zu den fast vier Millionen Dosen hinzu, die Rumänien bisher von der deutsch-amerikanischen Firma erhalten hat. Seit Beginn der Impfkampagne am 27. Dezember 2020 wurden mehr als 2,6 Millionen Menschen geimpft, davon 1,6 Millionen auch mit der zweiten Dosis. Derzeit werden in Rumänien nur die von der Europäischen Arzneimittel-Agentur (EMA) zugelassenen Impfstoffe verwendet – Pfizer, Moderna und AstraZeneca.

Die rumänische Landeswährung Leu wertete am Montag gegenüber dem Euro um 0,18 Bani ab und erreichte ein neues historisches Minimum. Der von der Nationalbank (BNR) berechnete Wechselkurs beträgt 4,9261 Lei für 1 Euro. Die Notenbank hatte am Freitag bei 4,9243 Lei das Euro notiert. Andererseits gewann der Leu gegenüber dem US-Dollar, der 4,0937 Lei erreichte, verglichen mit dem Wechselkurs am Freitag bzw. 4,1120 Lei / Dollar. Die Landeswährung wertete jedoch gegenüber dem Schweizer Franken um 0,67 Bani (0,15%) ab. So erreichte das Frankenkurs am Montag 4,4977 Lei gegenüber 4,4730 Lei am Freitag. Gleichzeitig stieg Gold um 1,52 Lei (0,65%) von 233,8266 Lei auf 235,3466.

Die Mitte-Rechts-Regierungskoalition in Rumänien, bestehend aus PNL, USR / Plus und UDMR, tritt am Montag zu ihrem ersten Treffen seit der Entlassung des USR / Plus-Gesundheitsministers Vlad Voiculescu in der vergangenen Woche zusammen. Die Führer der USR / Plus kritisierten die Entscheidung des liberalen Premierministers Florin Cîţu, Voiculescu zu entfernen, und forderten ein Treffen der Notfallkoalition. Die Führer von PNL und UDMR bekräftigten ihrerseits ihre Unterstützung für Florin Cîţu als Premierminister und betonten, dass USR / Plus für das Amt des Gesundheitsministers einen neuen Vorschlag machen müsse. Er beschuldigte Premierminister Cîţu der Nichteinmischung und des Mangels an Dialog über Gesundheitsfragen.

Die
EU-Außenminister halten heute ein Online-Treffen ab, um die jüngsten Spannungen
zwischen Russland und der Tschechischen Republik zu besprechen. Prag
beschuldigte Moskau, an einer Explosion in einem tschechischen Waffenlager 2014
beteiligt gewesen zu sein. Der russische Außenminister wies die Anschuldigung
als unbegründet und absurd zurück. Am Samstag wies die Tschechische Republik 18
russische Botschaftsmitarbeiter aus, die der Spionage im Zusammenhang mit der
Explosion beschuldigt wurden. Im Gegenzug teilte Moskau am Sonntag mit, 20
tschechische Botschaftsmitarbeiter seien zur Persona not grata erklärt
worden und müssten Russland verlassen. Die EU-Außenminister werden heute
auch über den Fall des russischen Dissidenten Aleksei Navalny beraten, der
derzeit in Russland inhaftiert ist. Deutschland und Frankreich forderten die
russischen Behörden auf, den führenden Kreml-Kritiker, dessen
Gesundheitszustand sich immer weiter verschlechtert, medizinisch zu versorgen.
Das Weiße Haus warnte, dass Russland mit Konsequenzen zu rechnen habe, falls
Aleksei Navalny im Gefängnis sterben sollte. Auch die Lage in der Ukraine wird
auf der Tagesordnung des heutigen Treffens stehen. Der Chef der rumänischen
Diplomatie Bogdan Aurescu wird die Unterstützung Rumäniens für die Souveränität
und territoriale Integrität der benachbarten Ukraine betonen und die Besorgnis
des Landes über die Stationierung von Truppen und militärischer Ausrüstung
durch Russland auf der Krim, an der Ostgrenze der Ukraine und in der
Schwarzmeerregion zum Ausdruck bringen.

Kilo schwere Ingenuity-Hubschrauber wird versuchen, 3 m über die Marsoberfläche
aufzusteigen und dort 30 Sekunden lang zu bleiben, bevor er zurückkehrt. Die
größte Herausforderung besteht darin, dass die Marsatmosphäre nur 1% so dicht
ist wie die der Erde an der Oberfläche, was den Rotoren der Drohne wenig Auftrieb
gibt. Aus diesem Grund musste das Fahrzeug sehr leicht und kompakt sein. Der
Rover Perseverance wird Bestätigungsfotos zur Erde senden.
